it seemed the allies underestanated the ability of the romanian and german fighters  in that aera,i have read in other places that even the p38 was hammered quite hard by  romanian fighters that were called oberslete and no threat.

 I know they were on the wrong side  and forgive me if you dont agree but i have been reading up on some of the romanian aces  and  they have my respect, all airman axis and allies  i have  a respect for.

i read this account and am lost for words,i have read about later attacks but not this one.This is true valour and heroism .i read the accounts of the misons with fighter escorts  wth p38s and p51s but not this one.

best friends grandfather was in a b24 on that raid


the stories he can tell..... though he doesn't really like to talk too long about it, lost too many friends that day

need b24d's for a true ploesti scenario

very easy mod of the b24.

delet ball turret change tail turret and change nose and add pitot tubes to nose.
