Can you change this banner into an avatar that would work on the HTC BB? The part of the banner that has the hound changing into a P-51?

you're welcome.

i am sure someone who has a bit more time will refine it for you and make the background transparent and resize the animation correctly for you.

my version will keep you going until then!  :)

LOL would be true if most of us flew the P-51, but our squadies favorite rides range from Me110's to Zekes. :) Quite a mixed bag, but the P-51 represents the 332nd end of it. :)

Besides most of us are not smart enough to know when to run.

That is so cool.  But ... wouldn't you prefer a mustang horse evolving into the P-51?  And maybe a second or two longer in the P-51 shape?

Furball,

What application did you use to create the avitar and how do you insure the outcome is the correct resolution and is so nicely viewable?

I just cut out the image for each frame out myself using photoshop, to be honest i just did it free hand trying to keep roughly the same size.  Then just put all the frames together and reversed the order at the end, so that the mustang looks like it is morphing back into the dog - rather than the animation just ending and restarting (the mustang would immediately flick back into a dog otherwise)

Once the animation is made, just resize it so the larger of the 2 dimensions (length, width) is 64 pixels making sure it keeps proportioned, and voila, you have an avatar.

took 5 - 10 mins.

My avatar took me friggen ages to make, trying to keep it under the size limit.

Furball,

I have to be honest, I've never created an animated gif before. I'm lost in your descrption of putting the frames together. I have photoshop, but I will read on the internet anything I can find on making animated gif files.

How do you get the single frame gif avatar to resize and look as good as so many members here have theirs?

Our squad motto is "Cave Tonitrum". Beware the Thunderbolt.

I wanted to do an animated gif that has a thunderbolt morphing into a P47.

i cannot *make* images, i just use and resize what is already there.

Frames are the individual images that make up an animation - the dog mustang one has 14 separate images.  I open them in a program called Animation shop.  I resize and adjust the quality of the image from there.

for editing gif's, try this website http://www.gifworks.com/

Furball,

Thanks, I downloaded a freeware called Movies12. It broke your animated gif into its parts. Became very clear how to create one. I liked how you created your morphing effect. Now I just need to fing a Jug and some thunderbolt anime.

Great work, Furball.  I would prefer two gallops of the dog and a longer P-51 duration.  But hey, maybe that's just me.  :aok
