Budweiser Adds Herbs, Caffeine To Beer

ST. LOUIS -- Anheuser-Busch is adding a little jolt to its new beer brand. B-to-the-E is being rolled out nationwide, after being test marketed in 55 cities.

The "E" stands for extra, in this case caffeine and herbs, including ginseng.

Excuse me, the very idea makes me feel ill

The world's largest brewer is going after the 20-something market with the fruity brewski.

But some beer-lovers might have a hard time downing the stuff. Anheuser-Busch even suggests that B-to-the-E be served over ice.

I don't drink beer, but this sure seems like a stupid marketing idea intended to capitalize on the "XTREME" fad that's going on nowdays.

hell 88,

my take on the infamous brewski is it is just like "cornflakes in a can!"  you know with all the hops and grains it is made of, i prefer to be a bit more healthy and go for the mountain spring water myself.   but hey, that is just me!:aok

Ephedrine is similar to methamphetamine, but lasts longer and isn't quite as potent as meth.

I don't believe that.  Budweiser gone politically correct?  It's just as bad a mistake as new coke.  That decision almost put them outta business.

They should stock it right next to the vanilla coke. You know its just a ploy to get more shelf space. In 6 months the new beer will be gone and the regular Bud will take up the new shelf space.

I actually like vanilla coke... though I prefer it served the more old-fashioned way. Coke out of a glass bottle and a teaspoon of vanilla extract. The can stuff isn't great, but it's not bad either.
