I am BAT31 of the 31st Fighter Group
As of late we have found many a time, one player from another country will be become a Bish, when pick the leader of a Bish squad as a wingman.
Reason for this is simple, when this spy sees that wingman con up from a field with a many other Bish and head to a target, this spy then just send a IM to his team mates in another country.
And Bingo, the target field now becomes the best defended base in the game.
Or how about this one, this spy just sends the location of every CV back to his team mates.
If your say this can't happen, well you can keep living in dream world, I am in this world where this is happening.
Have a nice day, remember the way it is setup right now, AHII rewards cheaters.

Oh, so this is some kind of new info, eh?
Cheaters have a way... of finding a way.
Hard to stop them without ruining everyone's fun.
Ooops, I said the forbidden "C" word, I meant "spies".
-
Since you seem to know when it ti happens and how, have the leader up and attack a dif field as a diversion :D
-
ROFL!
Good idea dedalos!! :D

Or, perhaps, the enemy saw a big dar bar and decided to defend, or it WAS the best defended base in the game, or it wasn't the empty base that the "many other bish" thought they were attacking and the lone GV guy called for help and got it....
Or it might be the infamous Anti-Horde Horde whose function is to, shall we say, impede, an attack, by strewing enemy plane parts far and wide. :)
-
Sometimes its luck. I was flying around the other day in p38. Having nothing better to do, I put it in a slite dive towards the enemy field to see how fast I could go through the hangers and the ack. As I got close, dots. Lost of little dots over the water. NOE mission had just taken off, nice slow, low, and heavy.
I could see how someone could think that a soy had given up the mission

:rofl ... this is another topic that has been discussed many times.
Nothing can be done about it, and nothing will be done about it due to the fact that there are many ways to spy and it probably would be a waste of time trying to plug all the holes. Most of all ... I'll bet the majority of the player base just don't give a crap either.
Knights would never have this problem cause we don't have a "supreme" leader ... I also fail to believe that the Bish and Rooks do too.
Inquirying minds would like to know ... who is the exalted supreme leader of Bishlandia ? ... stand and make yourself known.

Spies??? wow, there are spies? Get the pitch forks and torches... we are going hunting for the evil commie bastages... :aok
-
As things stand now, every friendly shows up as a green dot, whether or not above dar, whether or not within friendly radar range. Why not disable this, at least where the friendly is under 500 feet, and the viewer is not "missioned up" with the friendly? This would prevent a spy from blowing the whistle on under dar missions, at least.

i'd liek to see a notification if someone wingmans you.. a simple text buffer line...
system: shane has made you his wingman
or something.

I am TC of The Damned Air Group
As of late we have found many a time, one player from another country will be become a Knight, or log his 2nd computer on to his second account. You can usually pick up who is who by looking at the roster, they either will show all of 1 squad in 1 country and 1 or 2 lonewolfs in an opposite country, or they make their second account named similar to their main acct.
Reason for this is simple, when this spy sees a bunch of cons up from a field with many other knights and head to a target, this spy then just send a IM to his team mates in another country.

Why else would someone up 262's and a cple of La7's, P47s, Nikis ( 4 or 5 planes tops )and just hover around the sector around a given field at less than 8k alt when their is no enemy dar bar showing in a 3 sector deep radius around that particular base? spoils NOE missions everytime. It happens on all 3 sides we all have felt the unfortunate wraith of these evil Players
:D
Do Not announce you are doing a mission
Do not Post a Mission for Others To See
Forget About NOE it does not work Like it used too back in the days of AH1 ( earlier years )
Have Fun because this will never stop happening, so move along and find something else entertaining to do.
1 THING - that I have seen work lately is these mass formations of Buffs, 7 to 10 bomber formations all flying in tight formation together. ( they just need to work on their aim when dropping a little better 21 bombers all dropped only knocked out 1 FH and the radar :lol )
anyhow.........don't feel like it is just happening to your country BAT31.......every country /team has had to deal with this for a good while now.....
I like Shanes idea, of the text message when someone wingman tags you....
oh oh, what is really annoying is flying a goon NOE, with NOONE ELSE anywhere near you, think sneaking around into the back door! and this enemy dot on radar somehow knows exactly where you are, so you fly in different direction, well the enemy dot just corrects his course of flight and keeps coming directly too you. Okay you say, so you turn again and fly away from him, he turns toward you again....until he gets with in vis range and blammo you just wasted another goon flight to that EVIL PLayer :(
Now if you was NOE, was all alone and had no one near you you was hiding, you was not near a field close enough to be seen a s a dot, you did not trip any bases flashing mechanism, tell me that Evil Player has ESP, is a Wizard, a Medium? isn't he...no way on earth he has someone telling him where you are, or no way he is using 2 accts.......that is simply not possible now is it.........
-
make it like the join command. There you can deny it and they cant add you as wingman.
-
Heaven forbid you fight something other than sheds and AI ack.

would have to disable the GoTo feature in the roster as well.
Actually, it's really just a silly topic. Happens to everyone. PLAN for it. To be expected. IF somebody is SO very lame they have to change countries just to ruin another persons flight time, they are just sad little people, who you would pitty anyway if you ever met 'em in real life.
Still, would much rather attack a defended base than milkrun an empty one.
I'm the CO of a great squad. .Wingman me anytime. Bring it on!!

Good idea.

No way, I constantly use the wingman feature. You have a problem with spies, so sad, but its your problem.
-
I'm Sikboy from the Shillelagh Squadron.
I use the wingman function a lot, especially when flying some someone from outside the squad. However, I like Shane's idea about a text buffer notification.

That would be TOB. :lol
I'm all for Shane's suggestion as well.
-
Test buffer notification is nice, but the wingman feature is not the problem as lots of people pointed out.
Maybe best would be to be able to switch your dot off when being under radar, if you want to. Like giving no position reps back to hq.
Other than that id like to see radio activity. So if enemys chat over range or channel radio it should show on your sector, something like a dar bar but indicating amount of enemy radio chat.
Other than that i fly in a fighter squad and i am damn happy if the base i fly to is heavyly defended, so i would be happy if my squad was spied on. Could think of nothing more boring than to take an undefended base.
-
I am jamusta of STRIKE BANDITS...
Who gives a rats arse about spies anyways? Since I dont do missions very often this doesn't apply to me..
-
LOL, first I call foul to all who have replied that it is boring to attack an undefended field, or talk about fighting tool sheds and acks vs other real life opponents.......every one of you at one time or another has attempted to attack an supposedly undefended field. you might not do it now or do it any more, but there has been times each have tryed it. Is funny to see people claim they don't :lol
Now, after pointing that out, squads run missions. The mission may be a fighter sweep, patrolling a sector, attacking strat targets, pushing back the horde, and yes even going after a base wether it is with alt or NOE........
and again most if not all have participated in each type.
I was pointing out that the days of trying to execute any NOE missions is a bust.......UNLESS you take about an hours worth of time killing the enemys radar all the way back 8 sectors deep at every field then knock out the HQ as well along with the radar strats......ok so you do this, you think you can now execute a NOE raid ( REGARDLESS IF THE FIELD YOU ARE ATTACKING IS DEFENDED OR UNDEFENDED <--------THAT IS NOT THE POINT THE POINT IS EXECUTING A NOE RAID/MISSION )
you still can not do it because of either people flying with 2 accounts or as some refer to it as SPYs.........and if any one was refering to my first post , well no I don't have a problem with them. No, I don't care if a base is lightly defended, moderately defended, heavily defended or undefended, if I am wanting to go along with an attack or mission. I am just suggesting to not announce your missions, do not post your missions, if your squad is organized you can roll at will and take the necessary ordnace, troop carrier, attack planes needed with out announcing it to everyone so another person could possibly report to another country.
btw NOE is designed to provide the element of surprise, regardless if none to 2 ,3,6, 10 planes are up flying at a base..the element of surprise is what is being denied, if you took 15 to 30 planes flying a NOE mission and came upon the opponents field in a flash, you have caught them, causing them to panic from the site of so many planes and have put the sense of panic into their thinking!
that is what my 1st post was in regards to......it was not about attacking undefended fields! just wanted to clear that up!
-
Natasha I see Squirrel and Moose are upping Bish Field A24 heading to Rook Field A3...
Boris you are so clever as Spy....
:rofl
-
"every one of you at one time or another has attempted to attack an supposedly undefended field."
Speak for yourself.
I never once willingly attacked an un-defended base. Quite often the fight had dried up by the time I got there and I got to fly home with nothing but wasted time to show for my effort (stupid attention-starved people bombing FH's and such), but that's a different issue. I think I carried bombs on my P-51 maybe once or twice in several years of playing AH and don't think I ever hit anything with them anyway.
If you want to attack undefended bases, you can always do that offline and save yourself the subscription fee. I applaud people who try to force milkrunners to fight, regardless of the means they use.

with your never once willingly reply, I guess you never participated in a NOE mission either.......be proud you are one of a very few...........
if I understand your last comment you are refering to me as a milkrunner, and think I want to attack undefended bases.........your assumption of me is out in left field lost somewhere :D
btw what is your gameid?
-
I no longer have a game ID; I quit AH back in September when my particular favorite ride became too much of a hassle to try to find available in the MA. I still read the boards and keep track of the game's progess in hope that one day I'll find it worth my time again.
I participated in several NOE raids, but never against an undefended airfield. There is a huge amount of fun to be had when you plow into a furball at 200 feet AGL and 400 MPH. I avoided sections of the map that lacked enemy activity like the plague. If I couldn't find a decent fight, I'd log off sooner than attack an undefended base.
