It always was.

E.g., it perpetuates a stereotype of low tech, shoddy work with BS. In other words, makes people out to be too stupid to understand how to actually make anything more complex than bundles of bamboo stalks.

FYI, Japanese, and Chinese, et al, boats were made of wood just like Europeans. They never were made of bamboo.

If you live and work in california, which I and Karnak do, ultimitly you wind up having to take a diversity training, sexual harrasment training, and what not to say at work training to stay employed. PC speech and racial sensativity has been accutly sensatised into us out here and is the unspoken big brother always waiting to interpret for us what we didn't mean by what it says we said. Once the word racist is used, forget your 4th amendment protections. You are now guilty untill the day you die. And the person who defines you first becomes a hero. Karnak should really know better than to infer a definition to anyone.

Here is how silly it can get in california:

I was born Casablanca Morroco, which is on the continent of Africa. I am white. I went to college and threw javalin while I was there. I got a sensativity at the work place lecture for calling myself the truth. A White African American spear chukker. And I was the only person in the room who was from Africa. :rolleyes: One of my audience took exception in the face of the truth which was explained to him in detail about my place of birth and background. He chose to complained that I was latently racist.:rolleyes: Half the problem with his assertion is half the family that shows up to my families reunions are African America.

I used to live at Wakkinai Japan. The japanese there who didn't like americans said things about us that were outright hostily racist....go figure..........:confused: And here I joined AH to outfox those rascally california PC Police................ :p

What were you doing in Hokkaido? I spent a couple of years there - mostly in Sapporo and Nemuro.
Although I miss my friends there, I'd be very happy to never again have to live through a Hokkaido winter!:)

Ive been to Osaka a few times ( where one of my best friend lives) and respect thier way of life more then you know

Im in no way a racist, nor was my remark about BlueJ's post

If any Japanese subscribers took my post as offensive, my apologies.
Though im pretty sure thats not the case, as im around people from Japan everyday and have more of an understanding of thier culture and sence of humor then you may think

In the 3 years ive been registered here, have ya ever seen me insult anybody ? have ya ever seen me attack anyone on chn 200?

Not that any of the above even matters, but what does matter is..
Your comment about it towards myself was much more offensive., Infering that im racist is one of the worst things someone could say to me.
