Hi Ermac,

What you're encountering is a texture mirroring.  When the skin is applied to the 3D model in game, the skin bitmaps are wrapped around the aircraft in funky ways.  A 2D skin file doesn't always fit nicely around a 3D model, so sometimes you might see some stretching or unexpected weirdness in the game.

In order to find the actual mapping of you can find exactly which parts are being mirrored by a) experimenting with regular colors or skin components, or b) an easily recognizable test pattern to quickly find the troubled area.

Try using this as a guide... I think this one was created by local skinning master, Dux  :

(you may need to resize this to 1024 pixels, or stretch over the area you wish to map)

Replace this as the skin file bitmap (256 colors, 1024 in size, should be exactly 1.00mb file (P40ESD.bmp for example)).  When you look at it in-game, you'll see which areas are mirrored by their corresponding colored letter and background color surrounding the letter(s).
