Title: Graphics Bugs
Post by: Midnight on January 28, 2005, 10:57:12 PM
1. Was flying a mossie NOE. As I crested the hills, the shadow would go out ahead of me in the air.

2. Sun is hidden when looking through gun sight glass.

3. Mentioned in another thread - clouds are visible through the smoke.

4. Not sure if this is a bug, but the upper cloud layer seems like it is flat, like it is only as thick as a plate of glass. When you go above it, looking back down through it it like looking into clear calm water on a cloudy day.

5. wheel smoke / dust is visible on planes parked on the CV deck. IMO, wheel smoke should not be generated on the CV deck at all, but certainly not when a plane is stopped.

Lot's of other new things look very cool. Thanks HTC!

If you have ever been in an Aircraft going through clouds, you would know that cloud layers can be various thickness. From what I have seen, HT has done a magnificent job in modeling the upper level clouds.

Almost makes me want to park the plane on a grassy mountain someplace and just watch them skud by...

Yesterday I noticed that a rock texture was visible through another hill of a montain.

I was wondering how a rock patch could move on the ground untill I got past the hill and saw the patch was actually attached to a mountain further away.

I've been in plenty of aircraft, and gone through plenty of clouds. The new upper cloud layer in AHII is too thin. One second you are below it, then all the sudden you are above it. You don't even get a feeling that you were flying through clouds, it's like the cloud layer is only inches thick.... No cloud layer as big as the one in AH is that thin.

I was trying to make a point towards the look from the ground, and thats it's enhances the overall visual appeal of the game... Perhaps I should have been more specific.

Eitherway, Kudos to HT. I am sure he has in mind to fix the sorting issues of clouds and such, I mean, we wouldn't want warbirds to Sue HT for stealing their sorting bugs! :)
