Title: Just noticed the other night
Post by: Machine on January 31, 2005, 03:07:13 AM
Well I know this won't take well with some people..but...

When you pay to play...NO One and I mean NO one has the Right to tell you to shut up while your playing the game.

If you don't want to hear someone....leave that area or squelch them.  When you do either one it takes care of your problem of having to hear that person or persons.

But just telling them to STFU is not cool.  I notice that this causes many problems for all the players if one tries to contol another with abusive undertones.

Don't forget you have the ability to shut people up with this software...use it instead of trying to be a abusive person to someone else.

If someone pays to play they can say what they want?

Except to tell someone else to knock it off?

So, then they can't really say what they want because you say they can't?

Well Goos, freedom of speech isn't the issue.

Basic common courtesy is the issue.

I agree with Machine. The squelch option works very well.

For those who are the "squelchee",  maybe they 'oughta
engage brain before mouth. If their Mother wouldn't approve of how they are treating another person, maybe they should keep their yap closed.

Discretion has always been the better part of valor.

Cheers,
RTR

Well ... the sword cuts both ways.

Nothing worse than getting in range of a couple of chatty cathys that have to hog the whole range channel.

Discussing total BS and whatever it is that they think is so important that they have to usurp the range channel for extended periods of time.

They should have the consideration to take that to private vox ... they are the ones that get pissed when asked (even politely) to please stop hogging the channel.

Consideration on both ends would work a whole lot to making everybody happy.

I couldn't agree with this one more.  The range channel in the past has been pretty good but lately its been getting out of hand.  Completely annoying listening to many people talking about nothing involving the battle at hand.  The worst part is you can't turn it off & to squelch everybody wagging there tounge would take 1/2 the night. At times it is so bad you can even talk to squadies decently on squad channel. Its NOT for "Hi how are you" or "hows the weather" or "where are you from" or swearing or complaining. Its for "check 6", "con 3:00 high", "troops here".

Common sense.......

Why hasnt HT coded in the ability to squelch range completly?

Far too often I'll be in a fight and someone with their VOX so unbleivably loud will start chattering, not only percing my ear drums but breakin my concentration.

I know guys like Shane are going to come in here and say.... "Just turn VOX off". Bullchit.

Honestly I dont want to hear anyone but the guys in my squad or the guy im winging with. No one else. Not who has eggs for some town, or who stole who's kill ect ect. You can squelch just about everthing else in the game, why not range VOX?
