I was watching Antiques Roadshow tonight which is one of my favorite shows. Well this guy comes on with an original AVG silk flag that would have been displayed at HQ. The guy doing the appraising was shocked and couldnt believe what he was saying, apparently he had never seen one before. He called some of his friends who apparently are two of the biggest collectors of AVG items and neither of them had one. They etimated the price at somewhere around 40-50 thousand. It was pretty neat to see the flag and know the history behind it even before the two guys disscussed it.

Yeah at one time you could get brand new war surplus Mustangs and Corsairs for $100, inculding a full tank of avgas.  I wonder if the machine guns were included? :)

Actully, Mustangs where given away for free, Machineguns included. No gas though.
