Which two (or more) guitar players have you heard together in collaboration, either on stage or on a recording, that you thought were awsome. Give Names, song title(s) and recording session or album name, please. And please folks, NO CARTOON CHARACTERS.
Someone else may wanna start a thread for single artists.
I'll start with two such that are among my fav's:
1. Albert King w/ SRV: "Matchbox" from their album "In Session";
2. Santana w/ Eric Clapton: "The Calling" from "Supernatural".
-
1. Eric Clapton / Duane Allman - Derek & the Dominoes (save the first three songs on album Layla, the first three were just Clapton).
2. Brian May w/ both Mick Ronson and Tony Iommi @ The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert.

FWIW, I thought that Sammy Hagar's guitar was a nice complement to Edward Van Halen.
On the other hand, I still think DLR was a better front man.
-
That song from the mid 2004. That reached popularity and the top of the Charts in late April.....
C'mon everybody put your hands together now for...
Dale Addink and Roy Neese singin their one time hit

Oh, how different it might have all been if you didn't even mention cartoon characters.
Then again.... maybe not.

Neil Young & Poncho Sampdero (from the Crazy Horse) - everything live - they don't have that kind of guitars on albums..
Janne Halmkrona & Timo Rasio - CMX live at Tampere 2000 - they also had a good twin guitar performance. Oh, and CMX is a Finnish band with Finnish lyrics so I doubt anyone has heard anything of them outside Finland. ;)
-
Steve Irwin and a Crocodile
Tronsky
-
Mark Knofler and Mick Taylor (ex. RS) on Bob Dylans "infidels" Album.
-
Angus and Malcolm Young... :)
I love listening to Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds.

You'll have to scroll down to disk 2, track 2. For some reason it won't play.

Leo Kottke
(it'll make sense if you've heard him)
-
sitting front row about 10 ft from SRV and Colin James...
-
Jeff Hanneman & Kerry King
Guy Kyser & Roger Kunkel
Ed O'Brien, Jonny Greenwood, Thom Yorke
I'm more into guitarists who work together than the dueling solos types.
-
Joe walsh and Don felder
-
The other guy from Wham! & the short guy from Hall & Oates
-
Not a duo of guitarists... but I recommend:
Janis Joplin & Jimmy Hendrix - Summertime. It's just better with JH.
-
Cant leave out Rob & Fab...RIP whichever one of those guys is dead
-
Chet Atkins and Roy Clark one time on Hee Haw. Amazing.
culero
-
Brittany's "left one and Right one"
-
Jack Black and Kyle Gass of course. Doesn't matter what song, nothing beats the D.

Both those guys prolly the most underrated musicians around. Good choice. Chet once wanted to take lessons from Andre Segovia. AS asked him what knd of music he usually played. When chet told him country, AS wouldn't teach him. Chet was a true master guitarist, though.

Duane Allman and Dickey Betts
by far the greatest pairing of interplaying guitars imho
