Still under construction. This is the basic paint, invasion stripes (minus those on the tail booms), panel lines and rivets. The rivets are hard to see in this picture.
I posted it still under construction because something just doesn't look right. The only thing that comes out and slaps me in the face right now is the color of the canopy frame and the invasion stripes not lining up.
Do any of you see anything really wrong with it?

You've got more patience then me :) Looking good so far.
Only thing I see right off is the D-Day wing stripes are a bit on the large side.
I've only been working with the G, but working around the wing to fuselage fillet by the cockpit is tough. The demarcation line is so sharp.
Getting the white fillet will be a lot of trial and error I'm afraid.

It does look good, but I agree that the invasion stripes seem to wide.
Sorry to hear about the fillet problem - I will have the same issue with Itsy Bitsy II.
-
Looking at pics of pj with invasion stripes and playing around - 50 pixels seems the right size for each stripe.
-
Looks very promising United, I've a couple of other nitpicks though. The olive drab/grey line rises too far back on the booms, it is flush with the leading edge on the painting. Also the insignia on the booms look too small. I'd guess the window framing is gloss like the glass, probably can't be changed.

Thank you all very much. I'll mess around with it some more this week and see what I can come up with. :)
Kev, the 50 pixels does look much better for stripes, thanks!
Thanks for pointing out those camo mistakes, Greebo. I would have never noticed them otherwise!

YW United,
I'm working on with with stripes thats how I know :)

Very nice! I noticed on Margie that the US insignia on the wings seemed too small. If you look on the profile linked in my first post, you'll see that the insignia reaches further down the wing than the original sized one (not that I'm saying it is wrong or anything).

Hey Kev... that thing dominates man... Veryyyy nice.

Yup noticed that, mine on the wing are approx 120% bigger than the fuselage ones.
Also did you notice the stars are on the WRONG wings on the default one?
Thanks Lazerr.

Tried to point out the mistake on the wing placement of the stars loudly the first day :)

Hehe, I saw at least two threads in which you said they were on the wrong sides, so I made sure I got it right. :)

It appears from the picture supplied that the nacells are outlined in red along with the holes where the guns protrude from ... not sure if you have gotten around to them or missed them.
Is it just the way screen shots appear or is getting that "green" color a hard thing to do ?
-
Yeah, looks brown to me.
-
I used an olive drab color. In real life, it was much darker than shown in the profile. But, I do agree with you that it looks a little too dark. I'll probably lighten it up and add a greenish tint to it and see if that helps.

Slight change United -
Fuselage stripes 50 pixels, wing stripes 42 pixels.
Default wing stars are way too small, threw me off. Wings stars approx 135% of fuselage stars.
