Has anyone noticed that the wheels of your aircraft and ground vehicles kick up dust. But you can belly land a plane and it does not?

Have you also noticed that your brakes still work when performing a wheels up belly landing?

Did you also notice that wheel kick up dust while on a carrier deck, motionless?

I was sitting on runway and watched someone land his plane without gear, and saw the smoke.  Maybe I'm crazy though.
