Has anyone used this option yet?
I made a box in ac3d, then used the "Convert ac3d file". I was thinking that this would some how let the shape become available to add to tiles, but that does not seem to be the case. I noticed a file is created in the userlib directory with the same name but different file extension of .shp. Is there something I should do with this file?

aaahh .. copy to the texsrc directory ...... :)

After conversion, the "new shape"* does not appear on the object list until exiting and restarting the program though...

It does not go in the texsrc folder, thats for the terrain editor. Fully built shapes from the object editor goes to the terrain editor.
any shp in the folder userlib will show up in the object editor after restarting it.
Custom shapes are also show with a * next to them.

Seems a good place to jump in. I've gotten this far. Converted ac3d, got the shp* see it in the OE design space window. Seem to have everything in order.
So... now build and crash. :(
I guess the dumb question is, does it have to have a texture along with the object? I know that sounds a bit simple, but when loading the texture there are three check box choices and I'm not sure which one to check for a single object, like a box.
And thanks HT and everyone for the help. :aok
