I'm just curious but did not the UN violate their own sanctions knowingly and kept it a secret?  I mean seems it's another finger pointing contest yet the United Nations knew it was happening and condoned it themselves.

I guess this is a thread is only wanting to point out a particular person or country and their wrong doings instead of the big picture which included a willing United Nations also.  I guess those men and women appointed to the UN by all nations are just as guilty.

Maybe the headlines of CNNs article should read UN condoned Iraq oil smuggling instead.  Then it would be politically correct and show it just wasn't the evil US that had their hands in the cookie jar.

Umm maybe I missed something in the read. But can you explain to me how this is part of Clintons legacy?

I figured we were involved somehow. Why else would this investigation still be going on? Just makes me realize that ALL politicians are full of (#)@ and will do whatever they damn well please and claim its for all of our benefit and that we are just too dumb to understand. No wonder Saddam didnt think we would invade. We werent even serious on our sanctions.

I think the quicker some of us here learn this the less we will point fingers from one side to the other.  All admin's do this, including the current one whom I voted for.  

Imagine this BBS during the time when Hitler signed his agreement with Stalin and then broke that treaty.  Assuming, of course, we have some pro-Hitler people with some pro-Stalin people in here...which I know we do.  ;)

good point. makes it easier for politicians to get away with this garbage if they have the people divided against each other instead of against this type of behavior.
