Apparently still having a lot of packet loss, was told the underwater cable that goes all around the south and west coast of africa to connect to europe(+ rest of world) to this island is being repaired (since 3 weeks ago).

The airplane flightpaths are fine, I can see people take off and exit to tower, without any UDP loss or netstatus graph spikes, but the text lags a lot.  
It discos when the text takes too long to update.

Can I do anything about this?

If they are doing maintenance/repair on an underwater cable, it could take a little while to get back to normal.  Not much to be done about it other than to wait it out.
