Title: Max Schmelling Dead

Had no idea he was still alive.   News reports stated that he was 99 years old.

Two bouts with Joe Louis.  Won the first in 1936, but got his brains beat out in the second in 1938.

A paratrooper in the Wehrmacht, Schmelling took part in the German invasion of the island of Cyprus during World War II.
