I'd like to fly that P-51D. It's just something about those RAF paint jobs.

Isn't that an RAAF paint jobbie?

I would love a camo P-51 skin, i hate the 14 silver skins we have now.  All look the bloody same.

A warpane should be painted like a warplane.  It's not a friggen circus!

yeah, if i remember correctly P-51's have a large space behind pilots seat for radio (and maybe aux tank?) that in civilian use can be removed and an extra seat put in.

Its definately a RAAF paint job, evidenced by the rudder paint work, but the two letter squad code I dont recoginse. Where was the photo taken btw?

Just keep in mind it's a totally inaccurate paint job too.  It's the wrong camo and the codes are probably the warbird owner's initials.

Not historically accurate

Yeah, Ive just been on the Australian War Memorial web site, and there is no evidence of that TLC (GP).

The only RAAF unit that I know of i that operated P51's in Europe/Med was 3 squadron, CV their code.

I have a B&W photo so its hard to tell the colours, except to say that it looks like the standard RAF colours of the period.

Having said that, it would be good to have a historically accurate RAF coloured P51.

Furball no offense but last time I checked the so called circus planes your referring to were actually flown in combat with those paint schemes.  I'd hate to see your comments on half the LW planes and their paint schemes.  Especially considering they had more flamboyant paint schemes than many of the skins your referring to.  Not every country did a plain and very common 3 color camo scheme like the British.  The circus markings that were in use were for easier identification.

There's 1 D mustang that isn't in a natural metal and and second that is only 1/4 natural metal.  There is 2 B mustangs that aren't natural metal at all.  Sorry to burst your bubble but the majority of Mustang paint schemes were primarily natural metal and didn't have they typical British camo schemes.

I had planned on skinning a British 3 paint schemed D Mustang but the skin slots were taken up extremely fast.  I cancelled my order for a British Mustang profiles book shortly after the 13th mustang got accepted.

Can't please everyone I guess.

Cobra, sorry if i caused any offence or hit a nerve, i was just kidding.

Basically, i am just making my point to try and get a bit more variation to choose from.. 14 out of the 15 skins are silver, 14 of them being USAAF skins?

I am not trying to discredit anyone that flew, or even those that put their hard work and time into making the skins.
