The invasion stripes may be a tad too wide? - compare with the image below. It tough to find any upper views of a '38 wearing full stripes:

Hmm, looked at it and I think your right.
The star on the default skins wings is way too small, after resizing and playing around I came up with the altered stripes/star in the original post. I just overwrote the original image.
Look better?

After looking at both of these pictures, it appears that the white needs to be a little more pronounced ... or it could be just me.

coupla interesting things about Slapshot's posted image:
1st, the wing stripes don't appear to be parallel to the booms.
And 2nd, look no antiglare panels on the engine booms and nose...
