let's see...lol

Got a terrain knocked out elevation wise and tiled, but I want to start making custom tiles for use in it. So I start with water.. make a tile - place it in a texsrc folder in the map folder- nothing.

Ok - no biggie - got bigger fish to fry. So now I'm eyeballing how the tiles mesh together with one another, and now how the sub type tiles mesh... eyeballing seamleass textures for those and seing how they'll tile together...trying to figure out an easy process for doing seemless textures.

Then the part about objects and stuff on tiles...lol

Looked at the object editor and Ac3d...gotta lean a new interface for that...

eyeballing the HTC models in AC3D and tring to figure out why damage / and lods were still showing after hiding them in the heirarchy..."checkbox in 3d menu - show hidden" ..lol
grr.....

lots of  learning curve to fight...get T'd off at one thing - go to another - and back again....

The water tile is still named terr0000.bmp so far as the TE is concerned. Not water.bmp.

Also, your water tile WILL show up in the compiled .res file but not in the TE.

Waffel have you been able to get your objects all the way from AC3D to the TE?

I personally have my trees in OE now but have no clue how to get the tile objects into the map....

Btw waffle you do know that gun will not work in AH other then look pretty?

Also you would not try move that one object to the terrain editor, but wrather incorperate it into a tile, build it, the copy the new .shp file and any textures to texsrc folder of the terrain you were working on.

Ok now I'm confused...lol

So setting that object as auto gun type wouldn't allow it to work in game? even if named gng0 / gng1 or 2? All the sighting stuff and naming conventions are correct in heirarchy - just added the netting and sandbags...and changed the texture of the ground.

You loose all the axis control when you exported and imported it.

You could make up the external stuff, then add the gun in the AH objected editor in the midle of your webing.
