The German infantry stuff is amazing. I took three US Navy shots and hung them up at the wallpaper site.

Nice shots.

Put some nice German shots up. Took the liberty after cleaning up the Essex shot to add a F4U on
a flyby.

Cuz it kinda sets the picture off.

OMFG! i can not believe how many people are in that picture.

that's GOT to be mroe than 1,000,000 people... in 1 place, before modern media, modern transportation, before modern communication.

My grandfather was manning the front deck and is in there somewhere.  Just checked up on his diary and the dates match on when they came back after 3 years in the pacific.  4 kamikaze hits and the New York held out pretty well.  Pity he died a couple years ago.  He was always thrilled to find another picture of the old girl.  I bet he could have pointed himself out.

Zulu you might wanna research the N-1M "Jeep". The first flying wing designs were done as early as 1927.  The first tailless flying wing for Northrop was the Jeep which had flown over 28 flights by November 1940.

I resemble that remark!  Thankfully I walked away from that crash.

Nothing a little Nomad duct tape wouldn't fix too :)
