A truce has been called between Israeli and Palestinian leaders for the first time in 4 years.

Would I be unfairly cynical if I predicted the lifetime of the cease fire could be measured in hours at best?  There are splinter groups on both side that want peace talks to fail and will do anything to sabotage the process.

With Arafat gone, I believe the PLO will be willing to negotiate in good faith. Not so sure about the Israeli's.

US$350,000,000 in aid to Palestinians might be enough reason for them to stop shooting.

Why not just use Arafat's Swiss bank accounts?   That where our last aid money went.
