I've just turned 38 (today), and I'm trying to work out how many people play this game that are in the same situation, i'e feeling too old to play games, but keeping quiet about how old you are so you can keep playing games like this.
Are there any other mature game players out there?

I think most of us are, but I don't know if I'd use the word "mature". That's probably why you had no idea most of us weren't kids.

id bet dollars to dounuts the average age of the AHII player base is above 30, maybe over 35

Too old for fun?
Hell the only difference between me and my kids is the price of our toys.

second star to the left, and don't look back.

I think back when I started the average age was in the late-30s, early 40s.
It has probably made it to the teens by now though.
-
51 here but I don't play any online games anymore due to satelite internet connection. A 2 second latency is a bit too much to be competitive. I still have a bunch of "box games I play. I'm retired, i'm SUPPOSED to be having fun darnit so I do!
-
49. Still won't grow up.
-
42...been playing for a few years.
-
38 in May.
Quit worrying go do what you enjoy. Live your life as you see fit and as long as it hurts no one then anything is OK.
-
Scaevola,
Keep playing the game. Tests are begining to see links between mental acuity and facility being more pronounced in older adults who play games that require you to use your brain the way AH does. In simple terms, it keeps your brain sharp! It's like sex...use it or loose it.....kids!!!!! I don't know anymore?????..........:) Kids these days probably think looking at porno sites is sex....why in my day we all went out behind the barn and scared the sheep.......:D

Same age as wombatt..... In fact I think I'm the guy who teased him relentlessly in grade school.

I'll come, as long as we don't have to do the birdie song or the Okie Cokie.
Although after a couple of Stella the above has been performed, usually with my pants around my ankles for some strange reason, at least that's what the photographs seem to indicate.
Just shot down a couple of people and got shot down as well, feeling much better thank you.

Brand spanking new 40. WTF! When did that happen? I was 30 just last week, and 20 the month before that :)

There are all kinds of games besides AH, which I don't consider a game so much as something to take a break with.
But yes, you hav'ta have relatively good eyesight to do well on computer games such as AH. I'm 48 and can't read the dials on the P-38 very well. Just about decided to have a magnifying glass handy when using that plane, which is excellent for jabo work.:D

Could be it's all your fault LOL

43 here as of this past Sept.
When people ask me why I play this the responce is simple.
Its cheaper then hanging out at a bar and kills less braincells then drugs.
Also Im married.
I often have my best nights when the wife has me irked about something.
So I just make beleive all cons are HER.
:D

I turn 38 today:)
keeps me in the house, close to my wife and kids. Good down time late night activity.

40 + a few years......

Its sex you're supposed to stop at 38. You can play video games till you're 60 (provided they have no suggestive content)...
-
<== 36. Ask any video game widow, they would much rather have you at home than out at the bar or on the links.
-
I turned 37 on the 6th of Feb. Just a big kid who happens to be 37 yrs old.
-
48, I didn't even have a computer until I was 46. Personally I think this game is the best thing you can do for fun and still have your clothes on (most of the time). :D Even with it's many flaws.
-
turned 40 in December.
