Title: Seeking online contracts to read
Post by: G0ALY on February 08, 2005, 04:04:30 PM
Hello everyone, I’m looking for labor contracts that I can read online. I’m seeking information on how other employers or unions handle seniority issues.

I won’t bore you with the details, but I seem to be fighting against my own union on this matter.

You'll probably want to search for collective bargaining agreements. IIRC, that is the "contract" between unions and employers.

Thanks Sandman,

I’m already having some luck. I’m specifically looking for information on seniority retention or loss for involuntarily employee movement.

I found good information in the postal workers contract. If you request the move, you loose your seniority. If the move is involuntary (such as a closing) you keep it.

Our contract is vague in this area and renegotiations are coming up.
