Title: P38L: Dive flap indicator?
Post by: bbosen on February 08, 2005, 10:39:53 PM
In previous versions the P38L instrument panel had a light to indicate activation of the dive flaps.

I can't find it any more. Was it eliminated? Or moved to some obscure place? Or replaced with some other kind of indicator?

Or what?

Regards,

There's also a red 'knob' on the left side of the yoke that moves when you extend/retract the dive brakes.

OK.....   Wait......

[Peabody leans WAAAAAAAAAAAyyyyyyyyyy forward in his cockpit.

....squints tired old eyes.....

....leans back

....rubs eyes

....scrapes at monitor with fingernails

leans forward again......

Presses nose against LCD monitor......]

Oh yeah!!!   THERE IT IS!!!! It was stuck under an old, dead eyelash that had been blasted from my face during one of my encounters versus Roscoroo!

[....wipes nose print from LCD monitor.]

Thank you!

Hmmm... I see the red "knob" but it doesn't move at all when I select the dive brake.  I do however see a faint yellow llight (just barely) by the ammo counter.

All the Best...

It's there Doc, but the range of movement is fairly small. From default position press F8 and look down then press shift c, you'll see it move. I actually find it easier to see than the faint yellow light.
