From what I've read this is your Father's aircraft? And he's a retired USAF General?
Awesome!
How much time have you got in it? I've only gotten a ride in a -51, I envy you!
I know some guys in the P-51 community. What's the tail number or nose art on your Dad's airplane?
I may have some pictures of it if he does airshows.
-
If anyone is interested the latest copy of The controller has a half share of a Mustang for sale, based in the LA area
-
You didn't think he'd actually respond did you Toad?
-
I have to say bs...
-
Unless Dad is Reg Urschler who owns "Gunfighter". Only retired General with a 51 that I'm aware of.
What did Frank Borman retire as? He owns a 51. And one of his co-Apollo crewmates also owns a 51. Can't think of the name off the top.

Which half they selling?
Could be neat to have the front half of a P-51 sitting in the yard on blocks.. you'd be the coolest redneck around.

LOL
Turn it into a trailer, even better...
-
Uh uh ... TOW a trailer around with it.
THAT'd be badass!
-
Hey, he's a ATP. Maybe he's out on a trip.
Give him time. I'm sure he'll be back and tell us which airplane.
-
LOL Toad... you sure he isn't in intensive care unit with a scorpion bite?

Straiga = Voss ??

Go read auto pilot in A&V its for you little people.
Straiga

" for you little people."
A nasty, caustic answer to a nice, normal question? IMO that, and his replies in the autopilot topic, are confirmation he's slinging around buckets of horse dung.
I'd bet his "dad's" old plane has the name "Lazy Susan" on the nose.

BTW Toad..I am still looking for my service records and flight logs from Malta, but I will send them to you soon.

Your crappy planes got nothing on the Se5a i flew. That was REAL flying, wind n bugs in your face, fabric plane...

Straiga, dont let these little people pull you down to the level of their mundane lives. You'll always be an air ace in my eyes!

Just read in Computer Pilot magazine about a doctor in Puerto Rico that bought the front half of a 727, had it shipped to PR, built a special hangar for it, and is converting it into a 727 flight sim. Also includes working food cart, bathroom, 1st class section, etc. Has sounds of airport playing in background, 4+ computers controlling the views - even has views to the left side of the 1st class cabin so they can see where they are flying,etc....
Oh.......to have the money to do soemthing like that. But why waste money doing a boring jet liner where you just fly from point A to B? Why not do it to a fighter and do AH or some other combat sim? Yes - I'm very jealous!

When I was 17 I bought an Aeronca Champ for $750 with a busted under carraige. I rebuilt it up to fabric ready with the airfraim and engine signed off. Sold it to a freind of the family for about $1000 when I went to college the next year. Now I see them for sale $25,000-$30,000.

I owned a Stearman. Bought it as a project, and worked my arse off on some nights, but mostly weekends. Had the fuselage, upper wing, and tail feather done. Bought an engine core, had a yellow tagged prop, and was getting ready to order the last bit of spruce for the lower wings, and my wife (exwife now) left me.
During the divorce, Satan somehow got it into her head I needed to sell it and split it with her. Anyways, being the smart guy I thought I was, I sold it to a friend for $10k. With the behind the scene deal that I could buy it back from him for $11k with in one year.
3 mos after the divorce was final, I had the money, and I went back to him to buy it back, and he said nope...
We are no longer friends and I no longer have a Stearman. Shame on me for being stupid.

It's kinda sad actually. I'm sure he'll be changing his handle soon.

All right fellers. I had about a 1/2 hour vox conversation tonight in the game with Straiga and I will say this...
1.) I believe him.
2.) I will be gladly accepting his invitation to his home for a visit while staying in Vegas.
3.) If he does not in fact hold the qualifications he says, I will provide each person who posted in this forum *up to this point*a full months service of Aces High ($15/person)
If that's not good enough for you to say it's kosher, then I will upon my return from Vegas (Scheduled to arrive back in Columbus at 9:40am on March 11th) provide photographic evidence of his pilot certificate. I will NOT however, provide any personal information of his. I will place my pilot certificate next to his when photographing to verify I was there. Just to make it clear, I will black out the following:
Front:
Name
Address
Date of Birth
Pilot Certificate Number
Date of Issue
On the back:
Name
Certificate Number
This will list his privileges, ratings and limitations.
If I am right, however. Any takers must say so and then the terms go the other way.
-
Or you could just provide us with a pic of straiga flying a P51.
-
IF I had access to a P-51 I would have been at way past the 500hr mark about 800 hours after I got my tailwheel, high performance & complex endorsements
-
[POT]
[SPOON]
I think the idea is for everybody to back their mouth with money, getting on for 6 hours and so far no takers.
Golfer is introducing a touch of reality to the great anonymous BBS witch hunt.
So anybody going to take him up or are you all back pedalling furiously now ?
[/SPOON]
[/POT]
Now if Straiga said he lived in Florida i would call Voss straight away.
Golfer for the sake of your bank balance i hope you win :)

photoshop does wonders. I want his last name, that way it could be independantly verified by HTC (If they agree) that indeed that is correct. They should be able to verify that info unless of course his father pays for the game too.

Golfer,
Maybe I am way out in left field here but, I don't see how that
will answer the question about P-51 time. (What this whole deal
is about). A display of a pilot certificate (That could be anybodys),
would only show that he had the endorsements neccessary to
do so.
If the guy is totally legit, I don't care about his paper credentials, I just really want to hear about the experiance of getting that much time in a classic (rare, hard to maintain, expensive) Warbird. Somebody with that much Mustang experiance and
writing experiance (based on board posts alone) should be writing articles for Flying, or some Warbird publication.
For instance,
During the years XXXX I managed to log XXXX hours in P-51
XXXXX. The aircraft was expertly maintained and allowed it to
be in service almost constantly.... during this period. ( I assume
others were flying this aircraft also). I was able to log this much
time, because..............
The trials and tribulations of Mustang ownership are........
My family sold the Mustang because................
I Really hope the guy is legit because I would really like to hear
about his Mustang experiances.
However, In the past when a Squadmate (From Airwarrior) claimed to own a B-17 (Oldtimers remember the KenJr. affair)
he posted a picture of a B-17 he said was his.
The B-17 pic he posted belonged to Evergreen Air Center, Based
in Marana Arizona.
I worked at the Army Guard Heliport in Marana, Az. I drove past
the B-17 almost every day and saw it when it was not hangered.
Many other plane buffs immediately knew based on the pics that
he was not only embellishing a little but outright lying.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
(enough about that)
-
Easier question to answer. What's the name of his Dad's 51? Those are fairly common knowledge. Dad's retired AF General too.
Lives in Vegas?
Does he do the airshow circuit with the 51?
I kike warbird 51s is all when I hear about someone having access to one I get kinda envious and would like to know more.
Go here:
http://www.mustangsmustangs.net/p-51/survivors/p51listD5.shtml
Looks like 2 51s located in the Las Vegas area. Names of the pilots are common knowledge.
And as Gunsliner says, some of us remember getting burned by the guy claiming to own the 17. He used his flight time in 'his 17' to back his arguments with players as well regarding flight performance etc.
Trust me in hearing that all of us just want to hear about his 51 time and to know more about the 51 his dad owns.,

Since Straiga has disappeared from this thread and the autopilot thread I've just been replying to his BBS attorney in the "autopilot" thread.
You might want to check there.
And see who's backpedaling.
-
I can tell you the airplane is not based in Las Vegas. His dad does not live in Las Vegas.
Heck, after being called both Voss and Straiga all at once on the AH BBs I think I've accomplished enough to say I lived a full and complete life. ugh.
I guess it could simply things if I just said "Hey, I buy what he says."
Then, if none of this turns out to be true nobody will be more disappointed than me. Still, the little AH bet still stands. Not because I need money, but because meaningless sign holding and torchwaving still isn't good for the community. Put up or shut up.
On another note, I'd just love Thrawn to take a little wager on the case of whiskey. Good god I'd be set for years! I think that's a little unlikely so I'll just say shreck it since there's probably enough info on me in these BBs (nothing to hide) to do it anyway.
I'm not proficient enough (nor do I even own a copy) of photoshop to make it up. I suppose I could put it on a copy of today's paper but I'm not a kidnapped hostage.
(On a lighter note, at picturehangar.com I have the picture of the week! A first for me. "Brrr" is the caption Here (http://www.onpoi.net/ah/pics/users/621_1107330976_winterwonderland.jpg) )
Hopefully a pilot certificate, 2 debit cards, a credit card, 2 years of AOPA membership cards with membership ID numbers. These have been published already for their mentorship program someplace. This will only be up for about an hour, and I ask that you please not save the photo.
ID (http://www.onpoi.net/ah/pics/users/621_1108232786_idverify.jpg)

Nobody is questioning whether or not you are pilot Golfer.
If you claimed loads actual P-51 and some B-17 stick time, I'd be questioning that too.
This is real simple to resolve. What's the N-number? What's the nose art.
And let him answer for himself; that's not sensitive information.
You're looking complicit here and you've done that to yourself.
I'll be the first one to apologize if his bona fides check out.
However, everyone in this community with knowledge of the Voss scam knows why people are sceptical.
-
Are those your cards Golfer? George Thomas Nemeth
-
Sure are. You can find every other little bit of info in the airmen directory with that too. As of now I'm deleting the photo.
This has to end somewhere. You started questioning his P-51 experience. Say it's prooved. Not good enough, now you want navy info. Info on his father next.
Since you're all on a one track mindset here...he's not listed under any of the names you've searched. In fact, his name hasn't come up in any conversation or bit of evidence yet. He's also...ready for this...
Flown more than one P-51. He provided me a name of an owner, one which I didn't know off hand but checked out. Ferried that airplane to airshows. I think if you guys had an actual name...you'd go far. Since you're using names with guys who have no busName of the airplane as well as some fascinating info on that particular airplane. Will I provide this...not a snowball's chance in hell it's not my info to give.
If you'd swallow whatever pride you've got and try to be civil about this instead of trying to make hime dance for you like a monkey on a hotplate...you might find that the easier road. Reverse the situation...would you honestly post information like that about yourself here? I did, but I don't have anything to take. Nor do I have anything to hide.
I have to get going.
-
If I or my family owned a P51 you can bet the house I'd have buried you gents with photos and stories about it.
Of course if I owned a P51 the last place you'd find me in my spare time is flying a Flight sim when I could be out drooling over my real 51 :)
But that's just me

Most assuredly, I am not. Your bona fides as a pilot really don't concern me. There's no doubt hundreds if not thousands of guys with a license in this game.
Now, if you had said you had 500 hours in a Mustang, I'd call you on it, just like I'm calling him on it.
One thing is for certain. It isn't going to end if he runs away from his claims here.
Once again: P-51 N-number or noseart. Navy F-14 squadron/boat/time frame.
Real simple if he wants to step up to the plate.
If you'd swallow whatever pride you've got and try to be civil about this instead of trying to make hime dance for you like a monkey on a hotplate...
I don't have any pride in this. I said I'll apologize for whatever slights he may feel I've given IF this checks out.
All he has to do is type about three lines himself. He shouldn't need you to do it for him.
-
The fact that straiga is avoiding posting something as simple and commonnly known as the N number or the noseart is not a good sign of his credibility.
What I cant undersytand is whjy golfer is going so far to back him up, you guys must remember all the folks who got burned by believing then rabidly supporting voss claims almost to the bitter end.
Straiga please,
N number:
Noseart:
-
One other thing too.
I could show you a picture of me standing next to Gunfighter and tell you that Reg had me fly Gunfighter to the New Century airshow for him.
I could tell you that Harry Barr let me fly Barbara Jean to the New Century airshow for him a year later.
I could tell you that Bill Klaers let me fly the B-25 "In The Mood" around SFO bay.
However, none of those statements would be true. A simple phone call to those gentlemen would reveal that.
The truth is I got a ride in Gunfighter, I've met Harry but never even sat in his airplane and I rode in "In The Mood" with Bill that day but got no stick time. (My father did, however.)
They all make good stories though, don't they?
-
"And as Gunsliner says, some of us remember.."
Heh. You can say that again. This whole affair has been pure deja vu.
And I'm sorry to say it Golfer but your starting to look really stupid for standing up for this guy. Someone who long ago had the opportunity to easily impress people but instead has chosen to alienate and make a fool of himself.
At this point if he isn't lying he'll still look like a schmuck for having had such a poor display of dysfunctional, antisocial interaction with people here.
Might be a good time to cut yourself free from the situation so you don't get any of the perma-stink on ya.

Toad, the Yak 9 sure is a great flying plane!
I know beacuse Eddie Anderini let me crawl all over his Yak 9 at his hangar. If i had my camare that day I could prove how well I flew it because I could take a photo of us all in front of it...
;)
Straiga pleez!
-
You met Eddie Andreini Grun?
Great guy... his wife can really cook too. He checked my brother out aerobatically in the BT-13. He called him "PT Bob" and me "PT John" since we both had PT's.
Eddie's a lot of fun and a really nice guy.
-
Couple years ago I was in Half Moon Bay with my dad one saturday morning doing our father son bonding type stuff :) and I saw this Yak come in on final!!!!! So naturally we turn around head straight for the airport and the fellows at the airport cafe point me to Eddies hangar.
I just knock on his door, he lets us in and lets me climb all over his Yak and Stearmans for an hour whle we talk bout planes. Very nice guy and very welcoming.

Golfer,
wtf does your name have to do with this? Nobody called you on any BS. We, Toad and I, have called Straiga on his claim about the 51 though, and I am adding the Navy pilot to it as well.
Guess what, all I asked for was his last name. Nothing more. He chooses to hide, because in my opinion, he is caught in a lie.
This could end so easily with a last name. HTC could verify that the last name is correct, one simple search, and whammo, no more issues! Either myself apologising, or Straiga apologising for lying.
Sad that he has turned you into a puppet though. But, hey, anything for an extra hour though right...

Golfer, I retract my Golfer = Straiga = Voss comment. I don't think that you are either of them, I apologise.
What I do find interesting is the correlation between the increase in Straiga's posts and the decrease in Voss's posts after the "The VOSS CONSPIRACY... fascinating new book" (07-2004) thread was posted.

Flew combat aircraft for the USAF, flew alot in P-51's. Yet more correlations. The reason I suspected you is because last time he posted under a shade account to validate what he was saying.

500 hours is alot of time to fly in an ultra-rare aircraft like the P-51. Its also probably over $50,000 worth of fuel and maintenance.
Now I dont want to hurt anyones feelings or make them look bad. But if a hypothetical person claimed to have an airforce general for a father, a P-51, and 500 hours of flight time, then did not back up the claims, I would say this hypothetical person may not be telling the truth.
I had a friend with narcisistic personality disorder, and thats the kind of claims he would make.
I hope straiga really does have a P-51, maybe he just doesnt want to make all the poor saps like me (who dont have pilots licenses) jealous.
Now my dad, a LT in the airforce auxillary, really did get alot of stick time in a world war II aircraft in the 50s and 60s. The mighty L-4 Grasshopper.

The current accepted cost per hour is around $1800 - $2600 per hour for maintenance, planned expenses (prop over haul, radiator, engine overhaul, annuals, etc.), insurance, hangar space, and the consumables.
The low ball for 500 hours is: $900000.00
The high end on those figures is: $1300000.00
LOL, with those cost levels, and he does not remember the paint scheme, N number, or S/N.
This is looking more and more like a damn fraud by the minute.
He's already been caught in 1 lie. The general for a Daddy one. Let's see how many more we find.

So, are you going to answer?

A simple pic of said persons Pilot Log is all anyone needs, once yur sure he's not showing you someone elses.
It is a law in the US as well, to always have ur P.L. on every flight, and that it be kept up to date, isn't it?
Now you could be not logging due to lack of qualifications, (which is illegal), but if it's just for a joy ride or two I can understand, but I think it'd be hard to get away with 500 hrs flying unqualified in and outta a busy strip.
I also think insurance would be rather difficult for an unqualified pilot to be left seating anyones plane.
And if it's true, I want a ride, and if it's not true, well he should take a ride....to the 'Get a Life Store' and cash in his blowup doll.

I once had a friend with the same disability. It was a real shame too. My friend... Lets call him John, was a great guy. No doubt about that. He was a lot of fun, and had a great sense of humor. But he would tell these outlandish stories. Not anything too over the top, but just little things. Interestingly enough, he claimed his father was an Airforce Col., while his Girlfriend's dad was an Air Force Gen. He had all kinds of stories about his life back in South Dakota before he joined the Navy, he was a top notch tennis player, a great snowboarder, ect. And he always had these detailed stories that helped make his claims seem legitimate.
Anyhow, one day we finally got a chance to meet his girlfriend. She turned out to be one of the few things he didn't make up. John had to work a charity booth for the 4th of July weekend, so Myself, John's roomate, and John's Fiance (they were married soon after as I recall) were walking back to the parking lot after visiting John, and musing about how we should have gotten John to buy us some Beer (we were both 20, John was 21). His girlfriend was puzzeld. As it turns out, John was only 20, just like the rest of us. For some reason he felt compelled to lie about his age. ****, we had a 21st birthday party for the guy lol. Anyhow that night, while watching Fireworks, we learned all about John for the first time. None of his stories turned out to be true.
It just seemed so wierd, because, as I mentioned, he was a great guy. He didn't need all of those lies to make friends, he was a genuinely likeable charactor. In the end I felt sorry for him.

Straiga
After following the Straiga soap-opera string I have to admit this is a tough one for me to decide. The fellow could be a crusty, rich AF brat with poor social skills while communicating on the internet. The mention of his father being a retired General, no a Colonel, could be resolved, but would have to be explained.
Hope the situation can find resolution.

my father was a groundmechanic and as litle kid i used to see this plane from the inside.
Actualy my father was 1 of the few left to totaly overhaul this aircraft including the fabric spanning. Seems to be some craftmanship to do that.

Yesterday was one of the rare occasions I dared to embarras myself in my trusted P-51B.
Caught a lone guy in a P-51D who attempted to attack a VH by himself. I pinged him on a merge and he limped off with a fuel leak. Had to disengage because some of his friends were closing in and we were both low. Few minutes later I got the kill.
Not interesting in any way, only the name if this guy : 'Straigaa ' (with an extra 'a'). Same person?

We'll I think the good news in all of this, is that we will not have to endure anymore negative crap on the boards from Straiga and another FOS poser has been uncovered.
I the guys who have pressed this and am glad to see that this community has a higher standard and is not afraid to call a fake out when one is found.

I hate to tell ya, but you have yet disprove anything.
So far, you talk amongst yourselves to hear your own voices and make declarations, but I haven't seen one bit of evidence that debunks any claim. If you are all so adamant that Straiga is not kosher, then...who is he? What does he do? I'll be having a face to face with him barely two days from now. It won't be too difficult to say whether or not he is truthful after that.
In the meantime, don't pat yourselves on the back just yet. Don't get too high in the saddle. And by all means don't try to go directly to him to sort things out. God forbid you take things up with someone personally and privately rather than expect them to come to you!
If you're going to be so willing to say "guilty" I'd like to see some of YOUR evidence. Let's use the law as an outline. Lets say he doesn't have to prove he's innocent. You have to prove him guilty. Give it your best shot. I'd be surprised if you even have the name right. In some of the emails, Bodhi has been demanding me to give a name beause it will resolve the issue quicker and would save him from using other resources. I'd go as far to say as you don't have one. A simple online white pages search will verify his phone number. It's correct. It's time for everyone here to put up or shut up. We know who Voss is and what he's done. So far, the most annoying thing to me is nothing but speculation is coming from the peanut gallery.
Good luck.
-
No one has to prove anything Golfer, this is not a court of law ... more like jungle law. However if Straiga wants to gain back his credibility and (rather limited) respect on this BBS then he'd better show some form of proof for his claims.
He doesn't have to, but then again we don't have to believe him either, nor you for that matter.
-
Golfer,
You're right. It IS time to put up or shut up. So far straiga has yet to "put up" and back his claims. So far all he has done is the "shut up" part.
FWIW, the last time I was in Vegas there was plenty of ways to get to the internet.
Your spirited defense is admirable, if you are a friend. A friend would not allow his friend to dig himself into a hole like this then extend the hole further by the defense.

In the Law, when someone testifies as an expert, they are generally asked to provide credentials for the record. As has been mentioned ad nauseum in these threads Nobody would give two ****s about his 500 hours in a P-51 (or any of the other claims he's made) had he not been using those as the basis for his observations.
Anyhow, I suppose I should finally put my cards on the Table. I have 502 hours in P-51s and I think he's full of ****. You learn it all in those last 2 hours. :p

Sorry Golfer as far as I am concerned he has posted since being called out and has had ample time to reply and has not done so.
His silence says it all. He had no problem when posting his supposed accolades, but when asked to back then up he has all of a sudden gone silent.
As for you attacking the rest of us because we would like the truth...
In the meantime, don't pat yourselves on the back just yet. Don't get too high in the saddle. And by all means don't try to go directly to him to sort things out. God forbid you take things up with someone personally and privately rather than expect them to come to you!
That is such BS Golfer. Why should anyone go to him privately for things he posted publicly in this community. I didn't make the statements I don't have to defend anything. It is your client that needs to make good on his mouth not us. I don't know what your vested interest is in this but your buddy is getting you quite dirty as well.

I like the USMC so I will refrain from saying what I am thinking about you and your attack on the rest of us.
This is not a court of law. This is a community based on truth and respect. As for Straiga, he has made statements, seemingly as a means to garner respect and has yet to back them up.
Just the fact that he can't even tell us the N number is absurd. If someone flies a plane for 20 hours they are going to remember the N number just from pure use. Then add to the fact that it is something as rare as a P51 and its 500 hours, something is very fishy.
Maybe you like having BS blown up your arse, but not me.
-
It's up to the one making the claim to prove those claims, not the other way around. Those folks who challenge his claims don't have to prove anything.
That's the structure of a good argument.
People aren't jumping to a quick 'guilty' conclusion. Straiga has been making outrageous claims since he started posting regularly. You can verify this by searching and reading his past posts.
What folks are doing is challenging him to support his claims, after all he made them. He brought all these issues up himself. No one came out of the blue and demanded Straiga prove he had P-51 time. Straiga used his claim of '500 hours in a P-51' as a qualifier to some of his points.
He did the same with his claim of 'B-17 stick time' and the same with his claim to have an 'Engineering Degree'. It's only natural that folks ask that Straiga back up what he says, after all he is using those claims to support his argument. He made them a point of contention, not any one else.
A lot these replies are just bait to goat Straiga into replying but there is some 'truth' to the fact that Straiga is in hiding. He was all to willing to throw out his qualifications and the second some one calls BS he runs away. Don't try to sell us on this 'he's to good to be bothered to prove himself to some BBS tards'. Look at the petty subjects of his complaints. Talk about stupid issues, look at the petty insults and tones of his replies. A brief examination of his posting history just shows how 'petty' he really is.
Don't forget folks already caught him in one lie. First his father was a 'retired General', then a 'Colonel'. That lie was from his own hand.
It's more likely then not that he is lying about the rest of his claims as well. However, it's still up to him to provide proof if he expects to be taken seriously. As it stands right now he is a joke just like those fibers who came before him.
Go search the old Voss threads, Voss had his own 'Golfers' but it was a waste of effort, just like your defense of Straiga now. Why are you wasting your time and taking the heat? Some friend you have there, all this would be over if he just butched up and either took his medicine or offered some proof. He can do that privately through Toad or Bodhi if he really fears stalkers and identity thieves.
-
Well, either Straiga just had a freak yachting accident, ....
or he's been busted.

Are you blind? How can straiga's father be a retired USAF colonel then be a retired USAF general? He made those statements. That is a lie. A person can not be two ranks when they retire from the USAF. Search his father's last name at this link, see what you pull up. http://www.af.mil/bios/
So there is one lie.

Look above. Go to this site http://registry.faa.gov/amquery.asp and input his info there, and see if an LOA in the P-51 comes up. Better yet, see if a Type rating comes up for the B-17.... it's over 12500lbs and there fore requires it.

My personal opinion on straiga is that he is some sort of pilot who gets his jollies from making up BS claims to bolster his ego.
As for you being able to tell the truth by meeting someone???? Ask the fewq who met Paul Hinds and how convincing a liar he was. There are many psychophants out there, and the ones who usually go to these depths are usually very convincing it person.
I will offer one other wonderous way to solve this. Have straiga email me directly @ nawcdgreenREMOVE@yahoo.com (remove the REMOVE from the addy before sending. When he does, we can settle this out of the public eye, and I can come back and tell every one yeah or nay on the statements. The other alternative is that this is going to continue without let up until he puts up.
One last bit of advice, have you ever heard that he who sleeps with dogs gets fleas???? Keep that in mind Golfer, you seem like a nice person, albeit a bit naive and too trusting. If this guy is really not who he says he is, why would he lie, and what kind of person might you being getting involved with....

Let's get a grip on things here. Golfer has done nothin but point out the fact that evryone's innocent till proven guilty. That's a fact that is slowly being diminished , not only in public arenas,(i.e. media accusations), but in legal circles as well, (i.e. Patriot Act Articles) and something everyone should be very mindfull of.
Golfer is in a better position to solve this, ( for those that it means so much to), than anybody posting so far, Straiga aside. Attacking Golfer for not going along with the herd, just before he's to actually to meet the man, is an action better fitted to early Salem, then a BBS board in the year 2005.
Asking someone who has consistently boasted claims to show some proof, is one thing. Attacking anyone who even holds a firm NEUTRAL position, that may not be one's own, is an unacceptable course of action taken in an attempt for justification before justice.
My 2 cents.

I am starting to thing Golfer is Straiga. I mean I read though the Auto pilot thread, and his stuff about torque on the wing or whatever stuff, and it seems to me that when ever Straiga started to catch flak, Golfer picked right up where he left off. Look at his thread about the torque on takeoff with the B24, read all of his posts, watch where he leaves off and golfer comes in, then when straiga comes back golfers is nowhere to be seen. Look at the dates and times of both of there posts. You will see what I am talking about.

Golfer is not Straiga.
No one is going to win anything in this affair. Everyone will most likely lose, and particularly Golfer, who is just an enthusiastic young man with an overabundance of faith in people.
The great thing about AH and the world are the people. And they are also the worst of both.

Now hold on, Hawker, we've brought up the issue of if spaceships need to bank in turning. I think they do, to maintain coordination. The ball doesnt go to the outside of a flat turn because of the air around the aircraft. Smilarly, I think a good space captain would bank in turns to keep everyone's coffee cup from sliding off the table.

Straiga wont be posting anymore I am afriad. I was out today flying my (Dad>then your dad btw)'s Fw-190 which Kurt Tank himself gave to me as his favorite nephew. My Dad was like an Admiral in the Royal Navy and then after he kicked Napoleans arse(with my help I shot down ol Boney in his betty, with my f-15) See I flew in the Air Force for like 100 years and I helped win the Civil War when my f-16 sonic boomed, the rebels and they went home. Natually all this is secret.
Anyway I was flying my 190 and shot Straigas p-51 out of the sky.

Actually, Airbumba, according to the FARs (federal aviation regulations) one is not required to log flight time unless one is using that flight time in order to meet the requirements of a certification, rating, or license.
That being said, I cannot even IMAGINE not logging air time in my log book. It's like a diary of my adventures.

no fooling shubie...
with todays insurance requirements, I can not imagine anyone not logging the time.
Further reason to doubt him.
