Title: Kev...More colorful 38s
Post by: Guppy35 on February 09, 2005, 07:59:31 PM
Not as flashy as Elsie but not many were.

These would cover the MTO as well as another Pac bird.

First is a 7th FS, 49th FG P38L of Bob Dehaven.

One more.  Not sure if the shark mouth can be done but if so it gives you some options.  This one carried full D-Day stripes at one point.  "Kwitcherpis'n on both sides of the nose.

402nd FS, 370th FG, 9th AF P38J-15

I guess you'd have some leeway since the profile was based on these images of the plane pre-noseart.

Got this far -
No weathering yet.
Any idea on the 'orchid' noseart, would really like to put it on.

I think it will fly.  Very very nice.  Wish I could get to that point.

Maybe I need to ask you to do me a good Headhunters G model or L :)

Could do a G if you have a panel line layout.

Have any info on 433 FS "Virginia Marie"? All I really need is a close up of the noseart.

Check here for Virginia Marie.  I posted the profile with a nose art close up:

Thanks Dan, was all I was waiting for.
Thinking there was lack of any other color apart from blue when this was painted, lol.
Definately striking though.
Just a few bits to tidy up.

Think this one is a send in one.

I realise it's on an L and it's a J, just for testing.
