silly question, is the padlock only useable in h2h?

No.. it can be used in the arenas as well.

Do you find it usefull or is it a WOT (waste of time).

I know im still rusty but my ACM (mostly keeping sight) is really suffering.

It highlights only the icon above the contact, and it breaks lock once that contact passes thru any part of your canopy framework, so I find it a WOT.  Liked it in Falcon, don't like it in a WW2 sim, personally.
