Is that I could not fight my way out of a paper bag. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)
There are some obvious things I can see I need to work on. Trying to get my planes home instead of turning them into my coffins. Two, I need to quit taking off from fields that are under attack, because I have no "E".
Other than that I have some very primative ACM, I won't say skills, but instincts. By that I mean when I do something I know I should not have, I tell myself and !BAM!. R.I.P.
Does anyone know of a good book that will help out the situation here??? Particularly something that will help my ACM.
In a few of the books that I have read they get into the turning fights, like I do, however they seem to not run out of E where as I do. What might I be doing wrong?

i suck, and everyone knows that, but the one piece of advice i have to give (that was given to me by a hella good trainer) is:
make any control surface movement quick. the longer your control surfaces are not in the neutral position the more E you lose (because of increased drag..blah blah blah)
so basically dont make unneccessary control movements and when you do, make it quick and crisp.

A great book on ACM is Robert Shaw's "Fighter Combat".

The best solution is to set up an appointment with a trainer.
Drop me an email at sconrad@hfx.eastlink.ca and we'll set up an appointment.

What has helped me Jebo44 is just being patient and flying smarter. Never spawn from a vulched field, and if you really feel the need watch from the tower and pick your spot. Also get some alt. (energy in the bank so to speak). Many good pilots will not even think of engagement until say 12k minimum. I think you will transition into this. Everyone starting out likes to get right into it. I know I did.

Thanks guys I appreciate the advice (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
I bought the book you refered to and I feel it will give me some additional insight that I have been overlooking, only problem is it reads like my Onkyo Stereo Reciever instructions (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) You can get it but it will take you time (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Rara,
I know, and I have known, that my problem is exactly what you stated. I rush in where angels fear to tread, so I know if I adhere to a little more discipline I can see alot of improvement there.
Lephturn I will definetly do that, I have been out of town this past week and will be again for this week, so it may not be until closer to June. Thanks again for the offer (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
