http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/02/10/tecmo_sues_xbox_game_hackers/
Short version:
ninjahacker.net getting sued by Tecmo Inc for creating custom stuff (like skins) for Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive 3, and Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball.
Also included in the suit, filed January 21st in Illinois, are up to 100 anonymous users of the site, whose identities the company vowed to unmask. Tecmo want somewhere between $1000 and $100,000 per skin swapped over the website.
Honestly. A bunch of gamers decide they really like a game, create a crap load of extra stuff to go with it and get sued for their efforts.

On the one hand, company is an evil regime behaving like an idiot.
On the other hand, anyone who would PAY and PLAY game like this

You want to hate Billy Jeff? Forget everything else. The man deserves your scorn for signing this ridiculous bill into law.
The DMCA needs to go away.

Wonder what happens when they try and apply a similar standard to people's cars?

The harm isn't just to the wholesome values of Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball...
That line made reading that stupid article worthwhile.
