Title: Annoying Problems
Post by: Beans101 on February 10, 2005, 05:25:01 PM
I have been playing Aces High for about 3 years, and to this day i still wonder why it is that they have "DONT MOVE YOUR CONTROLS SO RAPPIDLY" programed into the game.  WTFH... ALL THE GOOD PILOTS MOVE THEIR CONTROLS RAPPIDLY!!!  IT ALWAYS SEEMS TO HAPPEN AT THE PERFECT TIME, THEN U DIE BECAUSE THE PROGRAM CANT KEEP UP.  If i could get Hitech to fix that stupid bug, problem, annoyance, or whatever you call it, it would make my play time much more enjoyable.  If there is some good reason for it to be there, well then tell me, but if not, WHY IS IT THERE!!!  I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND... maybe im stupid, and im sure lots of people think i am, but i mean REALLY.

PLEASE dont be shy, let me know how you guys feel about this annoyance, and hopefully Hitech will fix it.

or you can simply tweak the scaling and/or dampers/deadbands just enough to avoid getting that message when you're not really trying to stick-stir.

Or maybe you need a new stick, that worked for me anyway.  Maybe even just new drivers.

Why is it that you think it is a bug?

I can remember AH before we had it, its a feature. Its there for a very good reason.

Ok, it's a good thing to HELP you set up your stick.  Instructions in HELP file but read this------->

Go OFF LINE. Get your most common used plane to about 2,500 ft and fly straight and level.  Now wiggle stick up and down.  Sooner or later you'll get your "Don't move stick message".

Now go to set up joystick stick settings.  On left page you'll see it says pitch now move dead band and damper sliders up a little and click OK.  Now do the UP DOWN wiggle on stick again.  If you get that message again go back to pitch and move damper dead band sliders up some.......Repeat that untill you can wiggle stick UP DOWN without message showing.  Once that done go back to pitch and drop down to "ROLL".  Now wiggle stick LEFT to RIGHT.  Move the dead band / damper sliders up again untill you no longer get that message, as you did with pitch........simple !

You shouldn't have to move rudder or throttle damper dead bands but if you have to your sticks prolly ready to throw out.

I get this message sometimes when I'm landing. ???????
Go figure. I don't have any stick spikes & I'm surely not stick stirring. It gets a little hairy when you're landing & your controls lock & you get that message.  :(

I agree with Ghosth, I think HT put it there so that stick stirring could not be used to cause mini warps to throw off a shot. That isn't a bug, it's a game feature put in to respond to a problem.

The only time I ever got the message was when my old CH stick was on it's last leg, and kept spiking.

As has been mentioned, check your stick scaling. If that doesn't work, try a new stick. If that doesn't work, stop stirring your stick :p

If we were flying stunt planes, I'm sure that message would not appear.  Pretty sure its there to keep the realizem ect.. and a little adjustment as people mentioned in prior replys, fixs that  bam! done.  Happens is a stick is getting wore out or if a brand new stick is sensitive as some are.  cant win for losing in some cases!  lmao!! :p  ....  slide slide slide the sliders!

never bothers me.

apart from one time i was trying to land a crippled f4u on flight deck, was fighting the controls to stop it ground looping (missed hook wire) and then "dont move your controls so rapidly".  I didnt fall off the deck tho.

BTW happened to me yesterday doing touch & go's in a val. Controls don't actually freeze, they just get toned WAY down.

But steady full input will bring the nose up enough to keep you from augering.

Thats if you are level, not in a dogfight (when it usually happens), or not next to the ground.  I like to lose people behind me by flying between the trees, it happens sometimes when i do that.  Its great to watch the planes following you blow up doing it tho lol.  :D
