Well i am pretty sure after your last post you do not need us to tell you its a problem with your ISP not HTC.
-
The problem in that last trace started at hop one. This could be the local Internet connection, or your computer itself LePaul.
-
I am haveing a similar problem. I Lose Udp everytime i try to play in main arena but stay connected when switched to tcp however gameplay is horrible due to dissapearing planes, and beacon light intermittantly turns yellow when this occurs. I seem to be able to run h2h ok but still occasionally get beacon light (yellow).
- I read the connection hints/tips post and i have an external usb Dynex 56k v.92 data/fax modem. Im aware that this may be the culprit.
- I also Have macaffee virus software and have granted access to both servers and i disable it when going to enter the game this has no effect on my issue.
- I have tried enableing access to any ports between 2000 and 5000 this had no effect either.
-I have windows auto update disabled
-all drivers are current
-I wanted to do a traceroute but am not sure how to do this w/o a proxy being used.

I disabled the MS AntiSpyware software and everything seemed to right itself. Played for 3 hours after without being dumped.
-
Oh boy, another program to add to the list of stuff to disable before starting the game. Thanks LePaul.
EDIT: After I read my post, I thought I should say I sincerely meant the thanks.
-
Hi Skuzzy,
Just a note to follow up on your last post. I certainly agree that you should disable the MS AntiSpyware app to play AH, I think that it's an excellent piece of software and a good tool to use. It found a trojan on my system that AdAware and Spybot didn't catch and the system explorers in the advanced tools menu can also be very useful. I do not run it in the background and therefore don't use any of the active protection features but it seems to be a very well written app and I didn't want people to get the wrong idea about it from the tone of your post. I would love to know what you think about it and what your experience is with it. Thanks.

I guess my perceived tone could be one of sarcasm. I was not meaning for it to sound that way.
I guess its frustrating to see the effort an average user has to go through these days to keep thier computer running smoothly. More software on top of more software. All of it interferring with my livelihood! Damn it! :D
-
Well my udp losses were caused by my external modem, guess ill have to wait for verizon to hook my dsl up which has already been a month and then some. They really are idiots btw. and another good piece of advice if you want to play get an internal modem and never get a modem by Dynex because they have no support whatsoever. and it is just a cpu drain. Anyhow ty very much skuzzy, i respect the job you do. I wouldnt last a day dealing w/ disgruntled users such as myself. :)
I shall return to the trenches soon, so enjoy takeing those kills home while yous can.
