If Jester has no objection about this mission being flown at night this is how its going to go. The mission will be held Thursday night February 17th, at 10:30PM EST.
Planes in the mission are:
Axis:
Ju-88A-4 - Bombers
109E-4 - Escorts
110C-4 - Escorts
Allied:[/u]
Hurricane Mk I - Bomber Intercept
Spitfire Mk I - Fighter Intercept
I would like to see the ratios 40%-60% in favor if the Axis.
Alts. for this mission will be:
Bomers- 8-15K
Fighters- 10-20K
Heres the map for the mission:

Light Blue circles are where the escorts may roll from they are A72, A38 and A35
Red circles are where the fighter and bomber intercept mey roll from they are A21, A22, A8 and A9
Green circles are the targets the bombers may bomb it could be all of them or jsut one.
Yellow line is where the hurris and spits have to stay untill the bombers are spoted on radar.

So do I, Truekill, it's a real Battle of Britain type of mission.
I probably won't know until just before take-off time whether I'll be there or not. Sure hope I can.

Don't know about flying it at night TK.
Think you are thinking about the "Blitz" not the BOB.
The Spit's, Hurri's & 109's didn't fly much at night I don't think. Would also have to give the RAF some kind of night fighter like the A-20 and drop the Spit & Hurri.
Don't think most are going to want to fly at night. Might want to consider keeping it during daylight hours. But will go with the majority for the mission.
Well done on working the missions up TK. :aok
-
I'll Drive a set of 88's:D
-
I'll CO the 88's if need be.

Will have JG 2 there to fly 109's.
Looking forward to it TK. ! :aok
-
I think it will be a milk run, There are no allied players in the CT any longer.
-
I'll take a Hurricane... I never thought I'd have to fly allies for anything in the CT. I'll leave it at that before fly off the handle...
-
yup I'll take a Hurri also unless allied player show up
-
Well, put me down for either a Emil or a Hurri depending on what we need.

Yeah, tell stream the air is cleaner in the CT and no one has tested the ceiling on the Spit I's... yet.
-
Nobody wants to fly Allied because they are so obviously undermodeled...
-
Whines about lack of Allied players. We've come full circle.

And this helps the CT how?
-
Have I ever told you guys about the changes to rocky road ice cream?
-
I'll try to be there, and will happily fly allied if needed.
Question: Would you like the CT staff to alter the radar settings for this? Perhaps reduce radar ranges so that there are larger areas without friendly dar coverage when over the enemy side of the channel? If so, what would the organizers like to see?
Also, what about fuel burn rates?
-
Radar is already set to lowest setting = 1939 Standards due to the distance across the channel.
I have the Fuel Burn up to 1.7, I think that setting pretty well covers fuel burn as most take off with 50% fuel - doesn't give the 109's much time over the English Coast.
Setting actually should be higher as 109's couldn't operate more than 20 minutes over the English Coast before they had to RTB due to lack of fuel.
-
Sounds good, Jester.

I heard someone say mission up in the CT while I was flying in the MA so I came to see what was up. Ended up in a Hurricane, flying like a drunk since I've been living in P38Gs.
VWE and the other 501 Squadron Hurri's tolerated my presence although he did offer me up to the 109s at one point :)
It was good fun anyway and for a brief moment we even had a decent formation of Hurri's.

The Spitfire pilots lounged in the sun.
“Hope Jerry has the day off,” said one. “We’ve got the bleedin’ Oldman as flight leader today.”
“We’re hitting the bottom of the barrel, lad, and that’s the plain truth,” said the other. “That old blighter hasn’t even flown a Spitfire in the past few years, so goes the gen. Couldn’t find his own navel, if you ask me.”
“Right you are,” replied the first. “And it’s a fact that he’ll bring us in behind and below any squareheads we do manage to bump into. Aye, and didn’t my mother tell me to stay on the ground where sensible people belong.”
The siren wailed. The two pilots glanced silently at each other, then rose and ran for their planes.
Thanks to TrueKill for organizing last night’s mission. It bore a remarkable similarity to what I’ve read of the real thing. We took off too soon, with no clear idea of where we were headed, ran low on gas and landed for more. Took off again, found ourselves way east of the raid. With judicious adjustment of throttle and RPM we managed to get there with a little fuel, still low and to the rear of the 88s. By odd turnabout, the Hurricanes seemed to have dealt with the escort, so that the Spitfires could work their mayhem. I hope they did, because N7's Ju88 formation sawed off my left wing, and I plunged to earth way after my bed time.
Thanks to The Few who were patient and dedicated enough to follow a leader who obviously had little concept of how to manage things. I had a great time.

to the 109 pilots that were trailing the bomber formation. I don't think anyone would have seen you if I wasn't trailing behind the rest of the spits. It was a good fight. I wish I could have gotten one of you guys though.

I was in a hurri for this mission and we got into the 109's early. A couple of us stayed to play with the emils to hold them up and leave the bombers unescorted. It worked, and it was a fantastic fight (adrenaline overload more like :D ).
Norad, B00GA and Constel - great little battle on the deck hehe.
Cheers,
asw

actually the fighters(109's) were split in 2 groups. Most of the bombers got there and back. We were doing to you what you were trying to do to us.:D
