Not a new bug but rather one that has carried over from AH1.
When you lose a flap to battle damage, the FM treats it as still existing only it remains at the last position it was set to. ie. if you have your flaps at the first notch and lose one to battle damage, the aircraft will still fly level until you retract the remaining flap. The aircraft will then roll away from the damaged flap, indicating that it is still modelled as operating in the airflow.
This is trure for the P51B at least but I also observed it in the D pony in AH1, dunno about other aircraft cause I rarely fly 'em.
Is it really that difficult to enter a teensy bit of code that says "IF(flap(n) is damaged, Flap(n) deflection = 0)" ?

I actually prefer it this way. I look at it as modelling that the flap has been damaged and is stuck.
I would guess that's the way HTC is treating it. If so, it's not a bug, but a feature by design.

Mosq if the flap is damaged then it shouldn't appear to be off the airframe. There should be 2 damage scenarios. One that has the damaged flap showing and is stuck in its last position. The other should be the flap completely removed or showing damage and still operable but has the same characteristics of a damaged flap when it comes to the aerodynamics side of the house.

If the flap actually goes BANG! and falls OFF the airframe, it's sure as heck not "stuck"... It's gone!
Because they don't differentiate between the two (stuck and gone) I think they should fully retract when broken. It's stupid to think that a flap is going to increase lift on a wing when it's no longer present. And it screws up the aircraft's chances of running OR fighting, and basically makes them a lame duck til they're dead.

ever try and fly a 205 with the left flap only fully deployed???
