Thought I'd try a P38G.
Gonna do lof weathering on this one, this is just a rough test to make sure stuff lined etc.

Oh oh, Dottie's gonna start looking bad if you get going on Gs Kev :)
Biggest thing that bugs me about the OD birds is the hard line between upper and lower wing, and getting the OD right on the cockpit pod so that it rolls back under the wing a bit.
Your panal lines look better then Dottie too.
Argh! back to work :)

Panel lines -
1) Choose the black panel lines layer
2) Duplicate it
3) Use the duplicate and perform a Gaussian Blur with a radius of 4
4) Set the duplicate to Overlay
5) Opacity somewhere around 50%
6) Put it below both your panel layer lines
7) Play with your white/panel lines layers opacity so they just show.
My white panel lines still need upping a little to show more.
Dunno if this helps-

that is nice. :aok

Looks beautiful.
The hard line between upper and lower wing colors is easy to get rid of - just and a small feathered strip of color on the leading edge of the lower wing.
-
Oboe - I need some hints/tips on paint chips, yours look way better than mine.

just awesome Kev

That is rewhoopeediculous! WTG! Man wish I could see these birds in hi def in the game. Fuggin POS laptop only lets me use 256 grrrr.

Geez the weatherign looks great. But don't forget to add a feathered line of top color paint on the leading edge of the lower wing. It'll take care of that sharp border.
Then use the airbrush on real light 15-20% with some irregular brush patterns, and add chips to the leading edge of the lower wing...

Adding chips causes a problem -
Because there is severe stretching over the leading edge of the lower wing, looks OK far out, but really crappy close up.
Apart from that its really finished

Hey Kev I jsut thougth Dan posted a thread earlier with some plan shots of some old bet up '38s - might give you ideas for wear patterns...
