A suggestion for you:

and don't use the DSL service setup CD if ya can help it.........them DSL providers put all kinds of hidden crap on ya PC, same with broadband cable!

if you are not familar with setting it up, ask here or get a friend and let him walk you through it........

get a good firewall unless your router has a built in firewall.

( zonealarm is free and has never gave me any trouble, I use the firewall on my router and back it up with zonealarm )

is my thoughts anyhow, and I have had both DSL and Cable........( love DSL btw )

Better to get sygate for a free firewall.

Zonealarm free is too simplified. To the point that you can't fix things if it gives you trouble.

If you can afford to, get a router like a Linksys or netgear or some other brand and don't connect your DSL modem directly to your PC. That way you don't have to load any of your providers software on your PC and you can spoof\nat\alias your MAC address to their network.

YES DSL, but be aware, all ISP's are NOT created equal.

If you can, beg, borrow, or steal a few minutes from anyone who currently has the same DSL setup your looking at.

Ping HTC and see how it looks on his end.

I recently changed ISP's and went from 140-150 ms to 40-50 ms.

Same phone company that actually provides the DSL. Just different ISP's and differernt routing.

BTW DSL rocks!
