I paid for overnight shipping from FedEx. Tracked it and it was sitting at my local Fedex facility. Been there since 3pm. I then call at 7pm asking where my package is. There cookie cutter statment was "beyond our control we couldnt get the package to you on time"
She then tells me "you can go pick it up from the local facility". Cool problem solved....or is it? After arriving to pick it up, there are no lights on, the place is shut! Anger! then Rage! go through my mind. After getting back home another call to FedEx. Im sorry for the delay. There is nothing we can do.
How about a refund you say? Well you will have to go throught the person who shipped the package. Ok I ordered parts to build a new PC from MWave.com.."great outfit" and I am at a loss. These guys have nothing to do with my parts delay. FedEx was paid for a service but didnt deliver. Do I ask MWave to suck it up and pay me? Or do I just say thanks for the parts tomorrow when I get them.
I dont think I would be so frustrated if it wasnt for this isnt the first time its happended. And I really wanted to get the new PC together!!! Ok thats the real reason.

I've had many many problems with FedEx.
I had one where they couldn't find my house so they took the package back to their main office and called me. I gave them directions which ended with "You can't miss it because of the big blue water tower on the edge of my property". The driver still could not find it.
I finally said I would drive the 30 miles to their main office to get the package but when I got there they said it was still on the truck and I wouldn't be able to get it till morning.
The next morning I called to make sure it was off the truck and that I could come pick it up. I was told to come on up so I did.
When I got there they told me I couldn't pick it up there because the sender didn't OK it. They told me I needed to get a hold of the sender to OK it and to come back tomorrow.
Pissed I asked them how the sender would know if it was delivered to my home or if I picked it up here. They said they wouldn't but they couldn't do it anyway.
At this point I was beyond pissed and I refused to leave without my package nor would I move from the line so they could abuse the next person.
They finally called the manager who seeing how I was really really pissed decided to let me have my package.
To top things off the manager made sure to tell me he was doing me a favor by letting me have my package and that he won't do it again.
I made sure to tell him where he could shove his favor and not to worry because I will never buy anything from anyone that ships FedEx.

Yes, let MWave decide whether or not to follow up on *their* choice of shipping agent's failure to deliver.
You paid a premium for next-day, you didn't get it.

I was watching for a document that was shipped overnight by fedex. It was SUPPOSED to arrive by 10am GUARANTEED.
It showed up at 3pm.
No surprise

I've never had a problem with FedEx, it's those buggers in the brown trucks that annoy me.

I deal with shipping every day at work. One problem you may have encountered was the parts people may have got the package out to Fed-Ex after their normal delivery time window. Fed-Ex may be calling your "overnight" package as being the night you went to go get it..hence the "overnight" means you get it the morning after the second night.

tom hanks would never stand for that.... he'd get a small russian boy to get the package to you.

If i want it over night i allways call ups. of i want 2day or ground Fedex will do.
I have allways found Ups much more consistant then fedex. I have had alot of screw ups with both. but normaly less with ups.
Plus Ups is normaly not as arrogant and have allways been much more helpfull to me.
At least in my region the usp drivers at least seem to care.
I had a ups guy here last week for almost 30 min. Helping me get straps on a package going out that night. this was after 5pm and he did not have to stay.
That is what i call service.

I deal with both of them all the time. There are psrt of the USA that FEDEX wont goto or cant provide Over night service to!
Same as UPS..... not much you can do!
FedEx has pissed me of and almost cost my company a customer!
We deal with Casino's and when they need what we sell Alot of times they are in desprate need of it the next day! or ever naxt day SATURDAY deliveries too.
We had a casino getting 3 cartons shipped Over next Saturday delivery! FedEx guy walks in the front door of the casino, where there are greeters and a reception desp + Security. Stands there for 3 minutes and leave without droping of the Packages! Yup Fed EX has a 3 minute policy! if you dont answer the door in 3 min.s or in this case someone Smack the driver over the head and Say HERE you F*&^&ing idiot!
But either way they both have there faults.

Oh yea, don’t get me started.
My wife and I raise horses. To breed the mares we have the semen shipped from wherever the stallion is. This HAS to arrive the next day because (1) the semen doesn’t last long and (2) the mare needs to be bred when she ovulates.
For a few years it seems like they were batting only about .500 at getting the shipment here the next day (both UPS and FedEx). This means we are out about $250 (collection fee to the stallion owner) and we have to wait another month for the mare to cycle and start all over. And the most frustrating thing is like your situation, you can never talk to anyone that actually has the authority to fix the problem.

I've had stuff deliverd by both.
So far UPS has the best rating in my book.
A motherboard cpu combo came FedEx and there was a whole clear through the container!
UPS stuff is beatup a little sometimes but never had one punctured!

This wasnt the case. The tracking info on the webpage said, Estimated Arrival 15 Feb 05 at 4:30PM.
Well It finally arrived at 3:30Pm on the 16th. I still havent heard back from MWave on this. I will give them until tomorrow afternoon and then I will call them about it. I really dont think I should pay this premium If they are not going to deliver.
I have had great success with FedEx and the BBT in the past with only a few failures. However FedEx has been terrible in the last year. OMG at work they really screwed me last March. I like the BBT much better but they didnt offer next day or I would have used them. Oh well Lessons learned.
