This hanger is sitting at 122 polys (damaged and undamaged total, at LOD0) Still have some light texture / mapping work to do.
BTW - upon importing some files into Ac3d, They're coming in as trianglulated surfaces, instead of individual polys. Anyone know how to change that in ac3d?
EDIt: If i can get it into Ac3d at around 60 polys per damaged/undamaged model, I plan on adding some internal structure, braces, ect....

What kind of files are you importing to ac3d? The problem may also be that if you are exporting the model from your software (3dmax?) as dxf, the setting triangulate the model already at that phase. ac3d opened my dxf:s just fine.
But I suppose, you are saving them as normal 3Dmax files and importing them to ac3d, right?

beautiful!
if you ever run out of ideas i got alot of them on what to make.. i tried it and found myself getting more illegal operations then polygons ^_^

I have all my files in max format - then export using .3ds - then import those into Ac3d to do text flags and LODs. They hold all my texture mapping and object names. Haven't tried adding any properties.
I dont think ac3d can import max files. Basically it looks like its importing mesh instead of polys. Might have to do something to prep it / prefences in export - will look around.

I would first check if there are some setting involved when you export max to 3ds.
Same thing (triangles) happened to me at first when I was exporting the dxf:s from my software.

Knowing little to nothing about 3DMax and AC3D, this is going to be a dumb question...
Why are you using 3Dmax and exporting to AC3D? Isn't AC3D a design program in itself?
-
If you are familiar with one cad software, it is much easier to do the work with that and only finalize the work in the required software.
-
Looks its it's on the export side - as 3d max converts poly to mesh upon conversion to 3ds.

I wonder if i should try doing this stuff do you think blender will be able to convert it? its a free c++ program

please tell me you are planning on uploading that to ah-terrains.com :) looks very nice
