I wondered why her own family wont take her either.

Every facility she's been to, she's sued.  So they wont take her back.

Care to guess whose footing her bill?  Me, you, etc

Hmmmm.

6 outcomes.

1.  Someone offers her a home and she leaves willingly.

2.  They convince her to leave willingly regardless of whether she has a place to go.

3.  They let her stay.

4.  They put her on the street with a wheelchair and $.25 for a phone call.

5.  They chuck her in jail for trespassing, and then they have to go through the same thing all over again when she refuses to leave her jail cell after release.

6.  They give her a job in the hospital so she can stay legitimately, and pay her exactly what it costs to let her stay.

This of course ignores the liability risks the hospital would take in such a situation, but they've been liable for her from the moment she was dropped off at the front door by the care home that took her there.

Seriously... If you were her, what would you do?  It's cold outside and many (most?) soup kitchens don't let you sleep in the cafeteria.  To be honest, if she has any living relatives then I think they're the ones to blame for leaving her in the hospital.  Families ought to take care of family members in trouble.  Shame on the court system for letting her case drag on, but that's typical of our f**ked up legal system and not a problem unique to this situation.

According to the article she's been accepted at rehabs, but she doesn't want to go. Because she'd be too far away from her loving family who is sueing everybody, and won't let her come home.

Seriously, if I get report on a walky-talky patient that has a psych history and is png at local rehabs. Then I know it's going to be a long night. Chances are the person will have a substance dependancy and anxiety disorder also.

People seem to have an antiquated notion about hospitals. Hospitals are not part of the hospitality industry, hospitals are not a place to convalesce.

Being a patient is work, you're the captain of a team, people will be interacting with you at all hours, you won't get much rest.
