I was lying in bed this afternoon (I work 3rd shift), and my cat jumps up on top of my blankets. He walks over to my back and sits down. Then I feel something warm on my chest (I am sleeping on my stomach). At first I thought it was a spider crawling on me, then I realized it was urine!!! Not sure why my cat would do this, hope its not a sign of cancer or something. So I jumped up and ran to the shower and washed all the urine off me.

You were sleeping on your stomach, and the cat peed on your chest?
Either your body is all ****ed up, or your cat is afraid of Siegfried and Roy coming to get it.

For whatever reason, I didnt feel the pee until it trickled down to my chest. Maybe because I was sleeping under so many blankets.
-
How old is your cat? Are his gums pink or have they turned white? Is your cat acting like it's sick? Does your cat feel like it's running a fever. It's nose will be very hot and dry. Did you forget to feed it or change to a brand of litter it hates.
I have an 8 year old Turkish Angora male. He sleeps all day, then drinks water when I get home. He sits down and sucks 1-11/2 cups of water. It's normal for him. But then he floods his litter box.
So what did you do to piss your cat off?
-
sing of something not good....
look around the house, in corners, and hidden places for other places the cat has pee'd
how old is the cat?
if 12 or more, take her to the vet. it is quite possibly a kidney infection that can be cleared up by medication... or cancer.
my cat had that, peeing blood too. what PO'd me was i was unemployed and my stepdad took her to the vet... the test to see if it was cancer or just a kidney infection was $80... he wouldn't pay that, just the $10 to have her put to sleep.
i was SO pissed. i grew up with that cat, it was 16 and i got her when i was like 7 or 8. i still hold a grudge about it a bit 12 years later

My wife told me that her ex was taking a nap between games at a softball tournament and was laying on the grass next to one of the fields. Some dog comes by and pees on him while he's sleeping.
:rofl :rofl :rofl
That's why she probably dumped him.
:rofl
-
well whatever... but dont try to find any political motivation behind that act :D
-
Get a dog!
-
Since cats can’t speak, that is a way they give a sign that it’s their time; In other words shoot that little f345er.
-
Is that really a sign of cancer?
All the cat's I've had when they got sick or were on their last legs WOULDN'T go at all.
-
sigh.
dont listen to them sun tracker. (the kitty killers)
its probably either old age or a bladder infection...but you should have it checked out as it may in fact be something worse.
its also possible that he had peed on the blankets previously. that scent wont wash out forever.
-
Litter box clean?
Any other "accidents" before this one?
-
First accident. Cat is indoor/outdoor cat. 8 or 9 years old. He usually meows and knocks on the door to be let outside. Today he simply peed on me.

Had a cat start peeing everywhere for no apparent reason. He ws a russian/siamese mix......and his urine tract started being blocked by crystal buildup. he had to have an operation but eventually died from it.
I'd take it to the vet.

I hate cats. No unconditional love found with them at all, just takers. They use you for food and a box to crap in and come and go as they please.

There you go. He needed to go out, you were in bed. So he took care of both problems: relieving himself and teaching you to not let it happen again.

I disagree entirely. But a lot of people feel like that after having dogs, and expect to be able to treat a cat like a dog.
ST what kind of food do you give to your cat? Much though it pains me, I have to agree with one word answer's one word answer. I have heard (unconfirmed) that feeding your cat dry food and nothing else can result in this condition. I used to feed my cats a mixture of canned food, and IAMs - but not too many.
-
I feed him cheap dry food. Will switching to canned food help?
-
It might, if he isnt happy with what you're feeding him
My guys are indoor cats. I give them the Purina Indoor Formula and buy the 9Lives canned food. I give them each a 1/4 can in the morning and a 1/4 can for supper. I used to forgo the wet food (it smells) but after one of the cats had a UTI, the vet suggested bringing it into the diet.
I also feed them this (http://www.petco.com/product_info.asp?familyid=5166&sku=5274275310&tab=2&dept_id=571&c1=547&c2=571&c3=&ct1=Food&ct2=Hairball+Control+%26+Special+Needs&ct3=) Basically I just mix it with the Purina stuff in their dry food feeder. They like it, they'll literally scoop away the Purina stuff to get at the Science Diet stuff.
If he pisses on you again, vet time. Could be an infection.
-
Agree with LePaul about the Science Diet, its incredible stuff. Plus if you buy it in the large 15 or 25Kg sacks the cost works out less than the regular sized cheap stuff.

Went out and bought my cat some nine lives canned catfood. Will see how he does with that.

That wet food thing is total crap. I grew up with 4 cats who ate nothing but dry food and they never had a single problem.
Not only that, but a friend of mine had 3 cats who only ate dry food. Those cats were the biggest cats I've ever seen too. Not fat, but built.
-
wow.
-
I really really really really hate cats.
-
The cat just wanted to let you know he is the boss, and you are his little biatch.
:D

urinary problems are common, especially in male cats. I'd have it checked out.
My friends' 3-year-old male cat developed a blockage of the urinary tract. When they noticed it wasn't doing too well, They moved quickly (took it to the vet < 24 hours, on a Sunday), but his kidneys had already failed.
