I'd try the latest drivers.  If those don't work too well, try the latest omega hacked drivers.  If those don't work well, toss the card into your circular filing cabinet (trash can) and get another card.

Seriously, I've never heard anyone who was truly pleased with an nvidia 5xxx series card.  Even the GF4-4200 is faster than most nvidia 5xxx cards except for when running directx-9 specific stuff.  If it was free, then use it because they're not exactly "bad" cards, but I know a few people who felt their 5xxx cards were a step backwards from their GF4-4200 or 4600.

Use the 61.77 Omega drivers.

Btw, if you dont like it I'd gladly take it off your hands.  I love my 5900, but the Ultra is even hotter.  For the money they want for it, I'd buy a 6800 but if you are willing to deal............. :)

I had a BFG 4200 with 128 meg onboard.  It started artifacting so I called BFG and they replaced it with a GF 5900 ultra.  I use the 61.12 drivers, they give me the best preformance for my system.
The 61.77 omegas worked well also...

As far as preformance is concerned...the 5900 gives me 4000 more using 3d mark 2001 than the gf4 4200-128 did.  The gf5200 and the gf5500 are notorius for poor preformance however.
