Title: landing kills
Post by: wombatt on February 20, 2005, 12:31:53 AM
When you are on your own base in a M-16 why on God's green earth do you have to be on the pavement to land kills?

I can understand a plane but a GV? come on.

If you come over to my house and park on my lawn I'm gonna be a little pissed. The driveway and road are there to park on, not my damn lawn. Maybe the groundskeeper at the field takes your landing message as payback.

I agree, I also think you should get a successful landing in a plane if you land it anywhere say with in 1k of the base. Hec alot of fields in WWII didn't even have paved runways. Frustrating to go out, get several kills, get pinged up and have to limp back to base a sector away. Happen to land it with half your flight controls damaged. End up with the tail wheel off the runway and get a freaking ditch is rediculious IMO. Would love to see HT place a circle 1k around the base and if you land anywhere in it you get a successful landing. just my 2 cents on it.

For some reason I have towered out ON pavement at a VH in a tiger only to recieve a "you have ditched" message.  This has happened to me on multliple occasions.  I am at the point that everytime I tower out at a vh, especially in a perk ride, that I record it.  Not sure what I would do with the recording but I record it anyway.  Seems odd, but life is odd at times.
