Title: Falling through CV
Post by: Furball on February 20, 2005, 08:24:04 AM
today.. i was rearming an f6f on cv, sitting there, flaps up, hook up, about 10 seconds into rearm... all of a sudden *whoop* off i go.

not sure if i fell down through it or fell off backwards, whatever it was, it was annoying.

Hmm so that was the purpose of this red button labelled "don't touch" in the CV ....

Interesting.

I ditched a 109 on the carrier once, and fell through into the vehicle hanger somehow.

I was on Fire, so I had a chance to take one screenshot before I blew up.

Let me know if you want to see proff, I feel lazy tonight.

Dan.

A few times, I've come in and ditched belly-up on the carrier.

Then, when I stopped, I got launched CAT style backwards off the carrier to my death.  By launched, I mean really rocketed off the back.  I think it's only happened when i caught a wire with the tailhook and i lost a wing or two in the ditch.

Wouldn't be so bad if I didn't get killed in the process, and I probably wouldn't even post it if it hadn't happened to me so many times...

That bug has been around a while - if you keep your hook down and crack the throttle just a bit it happens pretty much everytime.  When landing make sure you close throttle all the way, not fun after a good mission to get shot off the back of the CV!

It's not a bug, folks...it's me playing on the elevator.
