Title: Blends, They're Mostly Blends
Post by: Halo on February 20, 2005, 04:00:53 PM
Thinking about some favorite drink tastes, and it dawns on me they're mostly blends:

Tea -- Earl Grey ("a fine blend of Oriental teas...")

Wine -- Black Swan Shiraz & Merlot (75% shiraz, 25% merlot)

but Coffee -- Melitta (100% Colombian).

Got to checking ingredients of lots of stuff, and most of it is blends.

Ergo, two questions:

1.  What are your fav beverages?

2.  Which, if any, are NOT blends?

Beer (various).  Not blend.
Shiraz - blend or not, both good.
Bailey's - blend
Any fruit juice with rum - blend
Vanilla Pepsi - blend (kinda)

not a coffee or tea drinker.  All taste the same to me.

A darn good drink is Snap-E-Tom tomato and chile cocktail.  Had my first one in a "hole in the wall" Mexican restaurant when I was about 8 years old.  (My brother and his friend bought one for me thinking it would be funny, but I loved it.)

Can't hardly find it round these parts nowadays.  One of these days I'm gonna buy a juicer and make my own.  Think it consists of tomato juice and Serrano peppers, onion, salt.  Man that is good stuff!!!

Spelling's fine, but "chai" is just east Indian for the word "tea".  So what you are saying is "tea tea".  Indian friend of mind pointed it out to me, it's a pet peave of his.
