Watching a prog on the History channel.
Are they right in stating the P-38 was originally going to be named the 'Atlanta', it was Brits who called it the 'Lightning'?

yep, that's right. Just like the British giving the name Mustang to the P-51 instead of the original USAAC name, Apache.

Its too bad they did not call it the Atlanta. Just think of all the P38's that would be all over town, gate guards, parks etc... Maybe thats why Glacier Girl was at PDK on Saturday?
