As I was flying after I got pilot wounded the other night...I noticed the bullet entry into the cockpit on my left side. The most heavy blood spray from pilot wounded was also on the left side, concentrated around the bullet hole in the canopy.
I am not a forensic person in any way, shape or form. But intuitively, I would think if I got hit with a bullet on the left side of my head, then a majority of the blood spray would be to the opposite side of where the bullet came from. Could be my intuition & logic is not correct. Any forensic knowledgable people no the answer?

Maybe the bullet entered at such an angle as to hit you in the gut, and the blood you see in the cockpit was you puking up your insides all over the place.

Maybe there was a second gunman?

maybe the bullet EXITED through the bullet hole you saw in the canopy? :)

watch out for that grassy knoll!!
Seriously, if you were hit bad enough to splatter that bad would you really be concious to see it for more than a few seconds? It sure would be nice to some more variety in damage. Aileron ripped off, aileron partially ripped off , aileron stuck or just flapping about due to cut cable... it would all add up to a number of flight situations.

Maybe HTC should put a warning label on them 20mm cannon shells...
' Side effects may include: Indigestion, heartburn, headaches, bad breath, explosive diarhea and Regurgitated projectile gut wound bloodspray'

Hmmmm, I think, and I could be wrong, that if you took a 20mm or 50cal on any side of your head, you should not be in a position to wory about the mess your blood made.:lol

Cannon and heavy machine gun rounds are not to be taken internally. May affect your ability to operate automobiles or heavy equipment. Discontinue use immediately should you experience any of the following symptoms:
Itching
Vertigo
Dizziness
Tingling in extremities
Loss of balance or coordination
Slurred speech
Temporary blindness
Profuse sweating
Heart palpitations
Ingredients of Hispano cannon shells include an unknown glowing substance which fell to Earth, presumably from outer space.

The cockpit was pressurized, and all the gore was sucked out through the hole.

Wait this is what might have happened, the wound was caused by your sidearm going off and the bullet traveled up your torso and exited out of your neck and then thru the canopy. That would explain why you were not killed out right by a 20mm shell which would have turned you into hamburger. It was an exit wound !!! :o

I'm just happy to see the blood, I think it looks great.
I mean, in the grand scheme of things there are worse bodily fluids to see on your cockpit than blood :D
