Title: FW 190 wings more fragile since patch 4?
Post by: Ouch on February 23, 2005, 06:10:51 PM
Is it just me (most likely) or have the FW190 A8 wings become much more fragile since the latest patch?

I spent last night screaming about "invisible" planes and "no way he could have gotten a shot at me" only to finally discover when I looked at the films that I was ripping my wings off on a regular basis.

I don't think I was doing anything different that I have not been doing since the 2.1 patch came out, but it sure seemed like the wings were falling off for no apparent reason last night.

Anyone else noticing this?

Ouch out.

Check your joystick calibration.  I changed joysticks when on the road(laptop) to a logitech and started getting the same thing.  After many flat spins in the mossie (pulling out of dive) and ripping wings off of 2 me-262 at under 400 mph I realized that my joystick was not gently registering a smooth transaction when pulling up...resulting in "jerking" input and ripping off wings.  I had to switch to a different joystick to finally get rid of it after 2 seperate logitecs.  I use an MSFF2 at home and evo on the road now.

You can see how your stick is reacting by clicking on controls-joystick-stick button (if I remember right) to see how your stick reacts to your movements.  If it quickly goes down when pulling up...that may be your problem.  Hope this helps.

Higgins

I had a wing pop off on a mossie yesterday, i've never had that happen before.  It could just be coincidence though.  My stick is quite new so i don't think it is spiking, i'll check film sometime and see how many G's i was pulling.
