Could some of you accomplished film makers out there shed some light on what you think the best way to convert a AH film to AVI.Meaning ,what codec ect you use to compress .I am trying to do some film editing using Ulead studio 8 and it seems very picky to what codec it can read .Thanks

There is an option in the film viewer itself to convert the .ahf to .avi. Its a button near the top right corner I think. You can also use a third party program. I use Fraps. Basically I run Fraps in the background while viewing my film and manipulating the views. Fraps captures whatever is on the screen as it's happening meaning that if I go to external view ect the film the .avi version will show that. The video that fraps captures is in .avi format. I can then edit the avi file. I think you pretty much have to convert the .ahf to .avi to edit it in about any editor.

The CODEC to use which garantees anyone with a Windows based computer can play it, is the "Cinepak Codec by Radius".
This CODEC has been shipped with every version of Windows since Windows 95.

thank you Skuzzy

If that codec isnt working for you, and your concerned about compatability, use a standard MPEG 2 compression....since mpeg is a standard its pretty solid....I found radius to be very slow....and big

Thanks ALF Radius does seem to take forever. It works though.Which one of the codecs in the drop down list is Mpeg 2 format. Please excuse my ignorance Im learning as I go. Thanks for your reply

THe new Windows Media plaler 10 will play it, and I think if you chose the save file option, it asks what format you want to save it in.
