Title: Observation about HO's
Post by: Stang on February 24, 2005, 02:50:43 PM
Ya know, 99% of those who whine about ho's are most likely guys who go for the ho and even ram guys most of the time on merge, that don't have any clue what acm is or what to do after two planes pass on merge.  They only whine so much because they lose, not because they don't like to ho.  They wouldn't say a word if they had actually hit the gut they were trying to ho before they themselves got ho'd.  Viscious cycle  :lol

Oh btw, Furball's a HO
:D

I got tired of dodging HOs last night so I decided to try one.  It was awesome, way easier than saddling up and going for the clean kill.

It does take two to tango :)

But some times on large maps, when one seems to fly for ever trying to find a red plane, and when find one, its just a HO guy who dives in from alt advantage, takes a HO shot and extends to out of icon range.

That is when one has to wonder.

Its not to difficult to avoid those HO, its just that it wold be more fun if people would stay and fight.  Cos Its booring to chase planes.

I also find it furstating when there is a hord of red planes with alt advantage, and all they do is HO after HO. But some how I have not seen this kind of hord ho (HHO  ) in a long time.

Hmm...

Ho Ho Ho
Santas Angels, now that would be a great name for a HO squad :rofl

I call BS on that.  Based on the knowledge I have gained in this BBBS, I now know that what you said is impossible.  If a guy dives in on you at 500mph, all you have to do is go under him, loop up, and presto.  Easy kill for you and death for the HOer.

:lol :lol :lol

The ones that get me are those where you are chasing one fighter, he does a small turn, you blast him only to find another enemy has turned into your new heading and is already blasting away with a HO attempt.  This one kills me because I'm engaged already, obviously vunerable and he already has at least a speed advantage.  But instead of going for a sure kill on my 6 he makes a high speed pass, if he gets me thats great, if not, he is out like a fat kid in a dodgeball game.

Dedalos, I know what you are saying about looping and a free kill, but that situation is mostly me in an f6f5 or comparable aircraft, and it seems like it mostly happens with them being in an la7.  I'll loop, avoiding the HO, waiting for the fight to ensue, just to watch them go nose down when they are already faster running for high ground.  A few times this tour, this la7 would keep going till I turned around, grab some alt, then come back and try to BnZ.  This went on for like 15 minutes.  I finally got so bored because I couldn't snap back on him fast enough I just turned into him, HO'd him, he wounded me, I wounded him... he ran away and landed it.

Just life I guess.. I need to work on my BnZ evasives so that I can gain a better position on their 6 when they go past...
