Title: Films, what program do you use?
Post by: NUKE on February 24, 2005, 03:24:28 PM
Was wondering what programs you guys are using to put together and edit your AH films.

I feel like trying my hand at one, but all I have is windows movie maker. I know that will do it, but I want to add fades, disolves and mabe some other effects.

Thanks.

Sorry, I should have posted this in the Films and Screenshot forums.

Fraps
Windows Movie Maker (latest version whatever comes with service pack 2 for XP)  MM does fades ect fairly well but only one audio track.

Anyone got suggestions for a cheaper version of another editor I'm all ears.  I'm lookin for one that allows more than one audio track and better "old looking" effects.  Don't want to spend 500-600 dollars on new one.

Virtual Dub is pretty good.  I havent played with it enough to see what it is fully capable of.

I actually have Virtual Dub....but haven't messed with it much at all...too lazy to read the manual I guess.  I have used it to save with Divx codec but found the end quality to be little less than what I can get out of Windows Movie Maker (prob doing something wrong).

I was really thinking of Uleads cheaper program vs Sony's cheaper program etc.  They seem to be a little easier to use...could be wrong here too.

If anyone's serious about media and film editing Sony Vegas 5 is the best there is imho. At 500+ dollars the price is its only drawback.
