I was OO for the 327th Steel Talons for squad night last night, and I just wanted to thank those Rooks who joined in and made operations so successful last night.
I also wanted to salute the enemy, mostly Knights, who put up a fierce and valiant defense.

all in good fun Savage, except the 4 to 7 on 1 fights at times.
sorry, but is hard for me to return a back when I am outnumbered and die. no offense.
I suspected it was squad nite and some fights were most fun , then some were not. ya know give and take LOL
I enjoy having encounters with your squad or any squad and it was nothing personal.
Instead of saying something out of context or in anger, I just decided to log and go to sleep :)
I do not think everyone in the area was in your squad. but in 1 encounter I tryed to engage a 38, saw 6 others coming spo I did my best to extend until I saw it wasn't going to happen so I reversed and did what I could and I counted no less than 30 HO attempts, between 7 planes against me the 31st attempted got me was more of high front 1/4 deflection than a HO though. stuff like that just turns me away. I was not in range of the others at the onset. I saw 38 extend and looked back then saw a 110, a 190D9, a 109g10, a La5, La7, f4U, and spit trying to chase me down. and instead of maybe 1 to 3 at most following every dang one of them insisted on being the 1st one to the kill.
I know we are in a new era but good grief overkill is over kill..........
Is always a hoot fighting the 327th, and even had fun winging with ya'll back in the day, so no offense toward your sqd in particular here.
til we cross paths again!

I assure you, no one took any offense. I don't give an
to a 3 on 1 either. Most everyone in our group was flying U.S. planes, and none I know of likes to HO. I think all but one or two were flying F4U's of some sort, plenty of C models, I flew both the C model and the P-38. We try to keep it to no more than 2 on 1, although in the confusion it may be that a couple more join in.
I agree, the HO thing has become SOP, and it is very tiring. I notice that almost ANYTHING with cannons can often be counted on to go HO. I get frustrated and bore straight in after a while, and I get mad at myself for stooping to their level. Seems there's a group that just lives to catch an enemy low on speed and try to force an HO.
You fought well, and were greatly respected by our bunch.
